This is a very simple thread to find out how many people who frequent this site are actually playing Vanguard. I absolutely love the game but always quit after about a month due to the lack of people.
I figure if we find a few, I might resub. It would be fun to have a few people still playing to quest with.

I've got 3 or 4 lvl 18's and a bunch of lvl 10's still on the island waiting to finish the final quest. I've noticed a lot more activity on the island as well lately, so there are new players and retunring ones for sure.
Not actually subbed, but voted YES since I can play because SOE screwed up my account and all games are now F2P for me (dunno how, but not complaining).
I have 2 chars around level 13/14. Dunno class/race right now, but like OP, I left because after trial isle I kinda felt alone out there :'( I'd love to play again with more ppl of my level to party with. It's no fun to skip the awesome stuff at low level just because of the lack of players
[EDIT]
Just logged on for my character info (server Telon):
Cirrha - 12 gnome necromancer - currently at Qa riverbanks
Rezy - 13 raki bard - currently at Jalen's crossing
If (when) we get this show on the road, I'm in with Rezy. And I guess a bard is always welcome ;-)
I votet no,but I realy want to reactivate may account the only reason why I dont is the low population, you need a group in Vanguard and being looking for a groupf for some quests for days or weeks or months without a single answere is devastating.I realy would support this game if soe would spend some time on evolving it and trying to sell it to people.
I actually played this game in very early beta when microsoft had it and my first beta invitation was from microsoft, back then the game was not very playable at least. then I played beta when soe took over from microsoft and till few months after release,at that time the game was buggy and not very fun to play so I canceled my account.
Resubed about a year later discovering the most fun mmorpg I have ever played(I have played many),Then early last year loads of people leaft the game since soe canceled all the stuff that we all were waiting for.I wish soe would sell Vanguard to some company that would be interested in taking the game to higher levels and marketing it.
Never did soe try marketing this game not one single advertsment has been seen on the web ever,
I am on every day. I left a few months after launch because my computer just could not handle rendering the game. Since I upgraded my computer I have had very few problems with the game. I am also seeing quite a few more players in the main quest zones as well. When the game was first released most people thought it was the game that was causing the extreme lag and so they quit. If they had followed the game from the start they would have known that the reason for the majority of the problems at release was the game was designed far ahead in terms of computer requirements. Now that computers have caught up and exceded the game specs the game plays quite well.
I am not saying the game is perfect but it is a very good game and it keeps me coming back each day. If I had one complaint about the game it would be it still has some memory leaks that will cause your computer to slow down as you play. Of course there is the old workaround of making a hotkey /flush all which takes care of that but it would be nice if they fixed those leaks. I got a friend of mine playing it and we group up at least 3 times a week and now another friend is starting to play so who knows, maybe we are the beginning of a game resurgence. With all the bad games that have been released lately it's nice to know there is a game albeit a game that still needs developer's love that is fun to play. Also if you like to craft or do diplomacy the game becomes even better.
Best thing about the game, if you can see it you can go there! You ever wonder what's on that mountain top? Well in Vanguard you can fly up there and see for yourself. I absolutely hate games that gives you a path you must follow and you can not explore. One of the reasons I no longer play Guildwars. And another thing that makes the game fun for me is the community is very helpful and you don't see a lot of the uberspeak in the chat channels. I believe the playerbase is a bit more mature than most games and by mature I am not talking about age but how a person conducts themselves in game.
Oh and there are guilds recruiting all the time now so get in a guild and you will have players to game with. Plus some of the guilds are sponsering events that are just awsome. One guild puts on a weekly fishing tournament that gives the winner a ship of his own to sail the seas. Another helps players get their griffons every tuesday night. The game is worth checking out at the very least.
Now I know there are a lot of you who will disagree and call me a fanboi so I will just say it now, these are my opinions of where the game is now and that it is fun for me.
Why don't we do this - let's pick a couple of night a week to meet up and pick a location (with the rifts that should be easy) and we can meet up and group up? Could be a great way to get more interest in the game...
I've got a
lvl 18 Warrior
lvl 18 Ranger
lvl 18 Paladin
lvl 15 Rogue
plus some lvl 10's just needing to finish up the Island.
Always got two accounts open and have four level 55 on Telon.
Kojani Disciple
Mordebi Human Tuurgin(bear) Shammy
Vulmane Dread Knight
Wood Elf Bard.
Part of me wants to start playing Vanguard again.
The other part of me doesn't want to play an MMO with a very low playerbase that hasn't been updated in a year.
In the end that other part is stronger.
So 'No' for now. If the playerbase and SOE support ever increase, then 'Yes'.
We are the bunny.
Resistance is futile.

And there lies the problem, the proverbial catch 22. No one wants to play if the fanbase is low but the fanbase can not grow if no one plays. Also SOE is not going to put money into a game with a low player population. Sad thing is, the game is a good game and what EQ II should have been. I played EQ II for awhile but it lacks a lot of the things that made EQ good. Vanguard has what it takes if people would only give it a chance to succeed.
I dont have Vanguard sub but i would like to play this game again. Vanguard has perfect game world and unique elementels, i really missed to game.
I had a level 15 necro, on one of the servers that no longer exist. So I am not sure if that toon exist or not any more.
I gave up my sub many years ago and only went back once during a free 15 day pass.
But that was all long before they merged too one server.
I just cant see going back. The game has no support, no patches, no anything. It is sad the crafting system was great.
I'm in the middle of giving VG a second (maybe third try) since beta/launch. I have to say I love it. The population is kind of low, but not dead. Lots of people seem to be giving the trial a shot and once off the island I still see people in my travels even when I'm out in the middle of pretty much no where. There are more people in the big centers. VEx seems to be rather popular most evenings.
Sadly I don't see VG ever getting the love and attention it really deserves. To SOE's credit from what I can tell all the major bugs are fixed and the game runs much smoother, but even if the population increases and it becomes rather profitable I don't see them putting much more time and money into it.
Now you can do two things with that piece of information, you can walk away or you can enjoy VG for what it is, if you've not really played it or not been back recently there really is a lot it has to offer.
I really don't like F2P games, but if it meant getting the amount of players up in this game I'm all for it. I hate SOE so much you have no idea, the reason they wont make it F2P is because it adds value to their station pass.

I specifically didn't get a station pass, because I wanted to be sure my money was going to vote for Vanguard. (Otherwise I might have tried for the many games thing, as I'm always playing several at a time.)
I did the exact same thing. Even wrote Sony and indicated that my intention was to vote for Vanguard over their other offerings with my wallet.

I gave starting a group my best effort and it did not work out. I hope you have better luck.
I would play if I had more time, but I just do not have the time anymore.

i got a lvl 53 cleric,43 bard,39 paladin,best mmo ever played..made by idiots and run by morons
Well i just found my login in info for Vanguard and would be willing to give it another shot. This would be shot #3. I am at a point that I really want to play something different to whats available at the moment. I only stopped playing because people i started with moved on.
I question why SOE isnt supporting Vanguard as well as everyone else. Seems to have a lot of what gamers are looking for. It may be a small niche of people but enough to be profitable. It dawned on me today that maybe its because of EQ Next? They have stated that EQ Next is going back to some of its EQ roots. I know many of us feel and think that Vanguard should of been the sequel to EQ and not EQ2. If SOE is going back and using some of the elements that you can find in EQ and Vanguard maybe that is a reason not to push and support Vanguard?
See you in game.
Kyldariann 7 Bard
Have at least one other toon but wont know until I get in the game. Im sure i'll start a new toon as well if thats where people want to start.
Once my Rift sub runs out I am going back to Vanguard. I'll group when I resub...
Sure SOE is supporting the game like we think they should. But that really doesn't matter. The game is great fun and better than most of the current offerings on the market.

Tested over a 115+ games since 1997.
Currently Playing:
Played(Retired): AOL NWN(91-95), UO, EQ1/2, DAoC, CoX, Lineage1/2, SWG(Pre CU/NGE), Planetside, Anarchy Online, FFXI, AC, Vanguard, D&D, AoC, DCUO, Rift, Eve, others
I am actually about to get the station pass and start playing between EQ prog server, Vanguard, and Pirates of the Burning Sea. If I am feeling frisky I may pick up DCU but that may be a few too many games for me.
On a side note, are the vanguard forums down or turned off? I just tried to look through them and nothing would come up.
They are up for me, mostly dead mind you aside from the newbie yard, but they are accessible.
Ah I am completely unable to see anything on them. Kind of strange...
Oh well, will see how everything is once I get everything downloaded for all the games and start playing again.
To anyone currently playing, how is the population at 50+? I have a 5x necro at the moment, will probably want to start getting back into raiding and what not once I get back in.
I don't have a 50+ toon myself, but I see them, they are all pretty much in guilds which seems to be the best way to keep things going.
When eq events for 12 stuff is over ill give vanguard another go. I have a station acount an log in from time to time.
