Vindictus: Nexon Donates $1.2 Million to Japan Relief

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

Nexon has announced that it has donated 100 million Yen, the equivalent of $1.2 million US dollars, to assist in relief efforts in disaster-torn Japan. In addition, Nexon announced that all of its games will feature special in-game items. When purchased, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to relief agencies in Japan.

All of us at Nexon would like to express our deepest sympathy to those affected by the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan last week. As a global company, many friends, family members, and fans of Nexon have undoubtedly been affected by these tragic events. It seems that every day, the scale of the disaster is growing, and we’re very concerned about the health and well-being of those that have gone days without food, water, and other basic supplies. To do our part in the global relief effort, Nexon will donate 100 million Yen (approximately $1.2 million) to aid relief agencies that are helping those affected by these devastating events.

    Are you serious?

There are people dying there. There's a place for being funny, this isn't it.

To Nexon, NCSoft and Hi-rez great job! Thank you for showing that there's still a human heart beating inside the big corporate machines.

Nice of them all too give away some money to the needy.

But if they all got so much money how about spending some of it on making bug free games with enough end-game before you release them?

    Currently Playing Path of Exile

the sad part is that japan already has PLENTY of money to assist with its recovery, what they dont have, are people on the ground to do the work physicaly, and sadly no amount of money will fix that. People need to step up with thier time if this is going ot get any better any sooner.

Japan is one of the richest countries in the world and is already getting aid from all over the world. Meanwhile there are tens of millions of people starving in complete shitholes all over the less developed countries.

It's their money of course and they are free to donate it to whoever they want. Just making a point...

But Japan should of known they built a nuclear powerplant on an active FAULT LINE. DERP.

That's black and white thinking (no pun intended). There are lots of reasons why poor countries stay poor, like cultural reasons, religions, colonialism, lack of education, lack of resources, lack of organized communities, wars, etc. One big thing is that agricultural subsidies in developed countries reduce world prices, and thus the incomes of farmers in shitholes like Africa.

There are plenty of nuclear powerplants near fault lines all over the world, like in California, not just Japan. Also, why is everyone screaming about those powerplants, no one has died there because of fallout.
