Fail!

http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=880 (character recustomization - dev blog)

Re-customization is FREE.

You will not have to spend one Interstellar Kredit, kronur, dollar, euro, yen, lira... not one cent of any currency, real or virtual, to re-customize your character.  Re-customize as much and as often as you want, with character re-creation the way it should be - flexible, unlimited and free.

Suprising, not because of the tattoo's and piercings being free, but they give unlimited times to customize your character. They charged $20 before the new character creator to change your portrait.

    Playing - EVE, Wurm

Retired - Final Fantasy XI, Anarchy Online, Mabinogi

    Waiting - ArcheAge, Salem

Recustomizing is free. In other words the proccess of changing your look is free.  There is nothing in the article that says you won't be able to purchase particular items for money.  Not saying you'll have to but the article doesn't end the discussion.

    I don't understand your angst.

There are certain things you cant change by the looks of things, like the structure of your body and face.  So it looks like its more going to be poses and accessories you can change.

is free because they dint include that basic stuff on the first release of the character creator, piercings can be considered basic character customization, OP you fail to make a point

Yup. Actually (on Sisi), the only modifiable things are vanity items. You still can't modify you face and body structure, which are final.

I'm french, that's why I sometimes mis-use or mis-spell some words... Please don't blame me.

It would not or been good to see them charge for character augmentation and I'm glad that they've made it free but it's not really a "fail" on anyones part since:

...it might be because people complained that it's free.

...or maybe it's just free today...  I'm sure CCP reserves the right to change the game however they choose.

Every MMO now charges extra for something.    CCP and CSM held a debate about this and they decided that any kind of extra's that they 'sell' would be purly cosmetic only!

Ok, so everyone was happy with that, the community said, yay!...      now people are saying how shitty it would be if CCP charged for cosmetic changes ¬.¬

Nobody minds it if there are cosmetic things you can buy, so long as they arnt game impacting

Im suprised they have made portraigt generation unlimited and free as opposed to like once a month, but really I wouldnt give two hoots if they charged for it.
