Dont complain account hacked,lots post 'OMG,MY ACCOUT IS HARCKED' in forum.In fact,some goldseller=hacker,they put Trojan on their web,and easy to hack ur account if u visit it.So dont be amazed ur char is unclad,and 0S in ur bag when u log in

Furthermore it baffles me that goldselling/hacking/botting has been going on for ages in mmo-land without any proper counter measurements, except some band-aiding.
We need some proper new anti-gold/cheating mmo software. Yeah I keep dreaming.

First of all, buying gold in Rift does not mean you'll have 300 crafting, all Epic gear, you still have to run the dungeons because the best gear is BOP (they copied WOW, remember?) and pretty much anyone can easily earn enough Plat to have all 4 soul builds.
And how does someone buying gold devalue your playing experience in any way? You earned it the right way, through honest hard work and you can take pride in your accomplishment. Nothing they do effects your game play other than you feel envious they got to short cut and you didn't.
As to breaking the economy, nonsense, not saying they can't cause some inflationary problems, but WOWs been surviving for years with tons of gold buying/selling yet the economies aren't broken. EVE has lots of bot mining and gold selling yet they manage to keep the economy in control as well.
As for gold sellers hacking your account, I won't say some don't, but a larger portion are legimate businesses that really have nothing to gain by attacking their customers. Fact is, accounts are hacked by criminals, and they aren't strictly related to the gold selling business. (sort of like saying that because some pawn shops buy stolen properly all pawn shops are run by criminals, just isn't the case)
I play Rift, not one time has a Farmer or Botter interfereed in my killing a boss (though I wish someone would do something about those annoying other players who gank the boss w/o accepting my invite to join them). I do recall when this was a problem in WOW, but then WOW added lots of soloable instanced content and the botters all vanished from the real world. (or perhaps it was me who vanished into my own instances, who can tell) I will admit, when I played Lineage 2 the botting was horribly annoying but NCSoft could have done something about that but chose not to for whatever reason.
It is true, gold spamming sucks and I report it every time I get an in game email or see it up on the chat channels and Trion does a great job of nuking these accounts quickly.
I'm not going to argue the morality of gold selling/buying, I just wanted to point out that it have far less impact on "your actual gameplay" and most of the impact is due to the perception in your mind and not based on any sort of reality.
Instead of worrying about what some gold buyer or seller is going, go out and play Rift and enjoy it because in the end only you can really impact your gameplay.

This may be a shock to you, but there are many gamers who do not speak english as their native language. If you read his post, you clearly understood that he is frustrated with people who buy gold and can't understand how you can feel like you earned something if you just paid money for it.
To me, it's like paying someone to play checkers for you. You're not really playing then.
unless you can write in his language better than he can in yours.. i would suggest you save the comments... its not like he can't be understood.. and what he's saying is right.. the criminal element seems to be prevalent in any popular MMO, and.. i suspect its much like the fabled hydra, as fast as you can chop off a head, another 2 grow in its place.. the only real way is to persuade the ones doing the buying, to stop doing it... as they are spoiling the game for other players, and encouraging criminals to rob, steal swindle etc. So lets not make Trions work harder for them (or any other MMO dev for that matter) and stop encouraging gold sellers to commit crimes.

answer. they need gold.. and selling players gear and robbing their accounts is the quickest/easiest way to do it..
its supply and demand.. you create the demand, some lowlife will obtain the supply. its not a question of Morals, its a question of common sense, its not a case of 'its not my fault if i don't have time to earn x amount of plat/gold etc.' legitimately, anyone who buys in game cash for real life money is condoning, encouraging, and ultimately, has absolutely everything to do with the fact that people are having their accounts hacked by criminals.. to supply them. it is.. their fault.. no excuses, no evasions. simple fact.
