What "little things" you would like to see?

Short-StrawShort-Straw Member Posts: 422

Now that Pax East has come and gone, we're starting to get a better feel for what GW2 is going to be like. Combat, PvP, dynamic events, cratftng are all out there but, what little thing (ex: pets, mounts) would you like to see in game?

I like the the skins/dyes from the original GWs, anything else?

I'd like to see multiple maps for World PvP and at least one with large bodies of water (underwater combat PvP XD).

I'd also like to see Guild halls and purchasable crafting workstations, for the guild hall.

I want chess, and checkers. Real basketball and football, stuff like that. And I would like the mini games to give exp.

In basketball/football, it should be setup like PVP ish.

I want to see a frog next to a catapult. That's what I wanna see...

I'd like to see upgradeable guild halls like they had in the first one. Not just shops and stuff but like added deffences and maybe slow weak AOE offensive weapons too for the guild vs guild games. Also alot more guild halls to choose from than the first game too.

I would like to see great axes as a usable weapon.

Actually, a football mini-game wouldn't be half bad. Sure, it would somewhat rip off Bloodbowl but this one would be a step forward. Genuinely real-time, perhaps even with all the players as player controlled characters.

Azuras flying through the air with the ball thrown by their golems... norns and charr in the offensive line... spice it up with something from all the different classes... yeah... I like it.

What makes gaming fun for me is i like to see the developers ideas for themselves, not what i want.If it was always what i want, then there would be no change from game to game.

What i do want from developers is to see that they take every idea and put a lot of depth and thought into it.So i just want to see what GW2 has to offer, then i'll decide if they made something intuitive or just cheap design to make a quick sale.I want to see a design aspect of the game that tells me ,it was a design the author truly is pleased of and not something that cuts corners to save production costs.

Yes i can spot cheap from effort a mile away,i have seen thousands of design ideas from thousands of games and for the most part,i know how they do it.All i want is EFFORT !.

Looks like they put quite a bit of effort into their Dynamic Event system.

I want to see a bunch of destructable elements in the bar area for bar fights. Mugs, stools, kegs, tables etc.  I want to be able to kick a norn in the stomach, hockey shirt him, spin him around and throw him out the door.  And of course I want to be able to do this with my female Asuran mesmer wearing the slutty negligee armor.

All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.

I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.

I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.

I don't hate much, but I hate Apple© with a passion. If Steve Jobs was alive, I would punch him in the face.

    Underwater PvP? Oh god yes.

Personally, I'd love to have subtle little throwbacks to GW1, maybe some well-written lore tucked away in libraries or Durmand Priory.   It would also please me to no end to have rare events where an Asura gate misfires and sends a few NPC's (or PC's, for that matter) to the middle of nowhere.  It would seem appropriate.

Come to think of it, it would be pretty neat to have an Asura gate that's completely broken, and sends a PC to any one of a number of random locations, a few of which are inaccessible through other means. Like a 'Secret' or 'Bonus Stage' kind of thing.

Well... first we are going to have to find the asura named Rayy and listen to his tirade about how "there is no cow level" for invasive species warning levels, then we will have to go find the asura named Legg and help him find his lost golem named Wirt. Then we can go find the secret area by traveling through the asura gateway in Gadd's Encampment.

And if you didn't get the joke there, go play Diablo, Starcraft, then Diablo II in that order. Anet was founded by the same people who put those references/secrets into their respective games.

So given their history, Anet probably will put in a secret accessible only by having intimate knowledge of the previous game. So I would agree: subtle throwbacks to GW1 that facilitate access to secret ares... that would be awesome.

I'd like to see some type of mount.  I'd prefer flight, but I don't think that would happen.

I hope the pets and the dye system are at least as cool as GW1.  I've seen some posts about cool stuff in the bar fights and football, etc. in PvP which sounds really cool.

I would also like the little throwbacks to GW1, like maybe finding "relics" and being able to farm them.

The "broken Asura Gates" sound like they would be cool too, maybe even with some sort of "time warp" thing as well.

I want a pet baby dragon....

The "little thing" I would like the most, though, is a release date!

I would really like to see Guild logo/emblem on cloaks and shields, just like in Warhammer.

Players judge all virtual worlds as a reflection of the one they first got into.

Sign me up! Just downloaded SPEEDBALL 2 on the iPhone; it's an all time top game ever imo (blood bowl -esque is similar). A GW2 version would go great guns... image

Turn animations for npc's and monsters, at least out of combat.

And that they make the target-glow optional. I think that turns a lot of people off.

I want to be able to sit in a chair, lay on a bed, hold up an umbrella when it rains.  I simply want to RP my characters, have them be part of the world.

You can probably do all that (except the umbrella thing) via. the /emotes. Heck, even in LotRO I could do the 1st 2.

Not sure about guild halls yet but it's pretty well known that GW2 with have a pretty extensive dye system.

Actually this is one thing I would like to see in action. Seeing punch a slideshows don't impress much, in fact if that was case Mortal Online would be pretty great game but it's not, it's pile of shit. So show us Dynamic Event from start to end and how it behaves when you lose or win. We saw part of it in PAX but it looked just standard PQ.

I think they said that Guilds could "claim" keeps in WvW so think that translates to putting their heraldry/emblems on the keep banners & flags?

The lesser races' stories in-depth as well: I hate sentient mobs that are deaf and dumb and only have one type and all hate your guts equally and have no HQ/society

I'd say we've seen enough of the DEs to make a valid judge of them, because anymore would just spoil the experience for when we actually get our hands on the full game. Is what they shown or spoken about the DEs isn't enough to get you to buy the game then you just have to try to get into the open-beta.
