So, I have been loving this game so far.  Things have been going well and I just recently hit level 30 , and I have another toon who is level 26.  Sure, I have afew problems with the Mage build,  but overall I did what I'm doing.  Here's the situation

It seems so many things that other MMO's take time to achieve are given to me in this game.  I'm not just talking about the Mount at level 1 but I even think gear, weapons, and other items.  I've been getting a lot of drops that are just grteat.  I've been selling things on the AH and buying things for dirt cheap.  It just seems that loot drops a little easily and gear is just too easy to obtain.  Does this change at higher levels?  I'm not sure, but it just seems a little "easy"?  Sure there are items that I can't get, because I don't go rifting enough or PvP but all in all things are just falling in my lap.

I'm not a hardcore player, a few hours a day, but I was hoping a little bit of a more challenge.  When this happens to me I tend to get bored in the future.  I son't want this to happen with Rift..

Is anyone else getting this feeling?

hmm idk maybe im just unlucky or your lucky but im level 22 right now and the only good gear i have is that that i obtained buying with planarite and pvp favor.  I did get one blue bow drop but it was a level 10 weapon.

It comes down to itemization. A ton of the Blue gear that randomyly drops will have like +20 Endurance and nothing else for stats.

In the higher tiers the drops rates were kind of low so people preferred the store gear you got with tokens. They are changing this so it is a better mix.

The gear was never meant to be a grind. Modern MMO communities have zero patience for that EQ/Aion style grind in MMO's these days.

It is not handed to you at 50 though. Tanks have caps they need to hit and you have to go find the gear.

This is good to know.  You are right about the current MMO community.  There is no patience for good gear.  I don't want a gear grind game at all but I'm just noticing certain items.

Player made gear is basically better than dropped as well, at least starting out. Well, better than greens at least.

@OP I agree, the loot drops very plentiful in this game (at least the greens).  However, like the guy above said, those drops really pale in comparison to the planar vendor and pvp vendor loot.  I don't know much about crafted gear, but it also seems a little better than the drop/quest stuff.

I'm level 45 and I can say honestly I hardly ever get decent drops off of mobs. I ran The Fall of Lantern Hook (I think thats the name, I always called it LH in game) a few times and only ended up getting 2 items I could use as a two handed warrior. One of them was a tank helmet too, but the stats were better than my helmet. A lot of gear drops that is decent at lower levels, but is VERY easily replaced by dungeon gear or pvp gear.
