From the biggest international ArcheAge community:

Hello to everyone, that likes ArcheAge! The "Seeking knowledge in ArcheAge" section on the official website has been updated. In this section, XLGames continues to answer the selected questions, which would be great to share with other people. So lets take a look on the questions which were asked by the players on the official homepage board.

Q: Is there some kind of a special quest line, which is unique for each race?

A. The quest system of AA is divided on to the main quest line and regional quests. The regional quests, which are received at different regions are available to every race except for enemy forces (AAportal.net administration thinks that if you try to quest in an Elven territory, while your race is at war with them, you will not be able to take quest tasks). And the main quests, which develop the background story and world view are unique to each race. According to the main quests, you will be able to experience situations, that help you learn about your race's history, background and a view on the world.

Q: Can we draw the design of houses our-self?

A. The housing design plan of ArcheAge is kind of a blueprint. You can buy the blueprint from an architecture merchant and confirm the needed materials you can purchase merchants or gather yourself. XLGames are currently designing more kinds of houses, which differ by size and form. XLGames are going to add special racial houses, which differ by their appearance, depending on the race by the Open beta test in November.

Q: Are there any diseases related to players, pets and live-stocks?

A. There are various infections and diseases that NPC's, pets, live-stocks can get. And there is also a possibility of infecting others. So, if you enter a big city, while being diseased, you will generate a huge epidemic.

Q: Are there any big monsters in the ocean?

A. Yeah, there are monsters in the water, just like on the surface. Most of them are huge, and pose a threat to your life.

Q: Why do the elven footprints glow?

A. Every character in ArcheAge has his own footstep. It looks differently depending on topography. For example different types of land such as meadow desert, water and so on will influence the way the footprint looks.

Q: Is there some kind of achievement system available in ArcheAge?

A. There are lots of quests available at each region at different levels. If you complete these quests, you can get experience, items, titles... and accept following quests. The rewards depend on the region - you can get objects which help fishing, gathering, fabricating and so on, if you are in a necessary location.

XLGames listen carefully to all the suggestions for AA. You can write your opinions, questions and suggestions anytime, through the open board on the homepage (Or on our forums).

Thank you.

Ryzom, Haven and Hearth, Xsyon, The Repopulation, UO private shards, Mortal Online, Darkfall 1 remakes (New Dawn or Rise of Agon), RPG MO, Project Gorgon, EQ: Sanctuary (custom  server)

Can anyone else see where *this* is headed?

Into a vast sea of tears I guess.

well it did in EQ2 - which I found sad really, the first live event SOE made that I experienced and people went moan moan who would thing its fun to make the players sick....first disappointment Ive had with the online community, they removed this event before anyone found the background of the disease, figured the cure etc....only clue they gave were that players would need to work together to find and craft a cure, which no one did, for what I saw atleast - properbly have been some but they werent very vocal.

either way  found it sad that such an event were bitched away into the dirt.

I was hoping players could utilize this as terorrist/kamikaze style attack during faction wars they are not the favorites of.

Definitely hope the developers implement it to be a tool for sandbox style play.

hehe, yea, this kind of disease should involve some hunt for a cure. Imagine if you require a special potion, with special ingredients, which can be found only on an island, which is under control of some guild. Then those guild members will gather the herbs, their alchemists will make the cures and sell them. A whole new level of gameplay.

Right, that's what I was thinking of. This feature could also be extremely helpful for RP stories or even for some PvP encounters!

Imagine the extortionate charge for a cure once a guild has found it ^^

Or player built hospitals/infirmaries, done right this could add an extra dimension to the sandbox model.

I'd hope that most diseases would be curable by player healers though.

Damn this game is starting to pique my interest. Just hope the system requirement aren't too steep.

How is it WoW all over again? are you talking about that stupid event we had pre-Naxxramas ? Duh, that was a .... " HAHAHA IM GONNA INFECT YOU FOR AN ACHIEVEMENTTTTT " ... lol, you were suppose to get infected and all that jazz. This is a completely different thing, which hopefully will be a detriment to your character, like, move speed down, strength slowly decreases etc etc :D :D :D

PS - All mammals have nipples.

    Get over it already.

But then... can you think of a better reason to see a greedy guild crushed under a wave of angry people?

It is a great tool to generate teamwork  and roleplay oppertunities.

    No.

Edit : I might as well just say it.. The bug with ZG that allowed a disease to stay on characters after leaving the dungeon. Entire servers were infected with it.

What AA wants to do isnt going to happen and I bet that this feature isnt in the game yet either and I dont think ever will be. Its just isnt good mechanics.
