Has been thinking about trying out Rift and saw on Direct2Drive they are doing 20% off all games until Monday. Standard edition is costing £20 with the Collector's edition being £28. Is the Collector's edition worth the extra money?
How are people finding the game since it has launched?
Thanks :-)

Collector's Edition is basically $10 (or 5 Euros) for a mount and four extra bag slots. The mount from day one saves you basically 17 levels of gaining plat to pay for a horse. You also get an utterly worthless pet. It does help a lot to have a horse early on.
So if a free mount and slightly larger bag DLC is worth $10, by all means get it.
The CE of rift is better priced than the regular version with the 20% off, you will pay about 48 for it, worth it in the long run. THe regular is cheaper but you get a better deal with the CE and the game has a ton of polish you wont be dissapointed .
I went CE and I was very pleased with that decision. A friend of mine went SE and he was displeased and wished he had gone the route of an extra $10. I mean really, it's an extra $10, you get more bag space which is VERY limited until you have some plat anyhow and it's better to save your plat and buy bag space rather than have to spend money to get a mount too. CE took care of the mount for me and now at level 24 I've got 4 18 slot bags. Made it easier for me in the long run.
Also helps not to be frivilous with your money early on as well!
You can upgrade to the CE at anytime from within Account Management by just paying $10.
I'm pretty sure you can upgrade your accoun for $10 from SE to CE
My Thoughts on Content Locust
Is that only going on during the founders promotion or is that permanent?
i still see people using that CE turtle mount until they buy their lvl 50 mount lol.
Most memorable games: AoC(Tryanny PvP), RIFT, GW, GW2, Ragnarok Online, Aion, FFXI, FFXIV, Secret World, League of Legends (Silver II rank)
You gain money pretty fast post 20 so 2.5 plat is childs play.
Only time you feel like a pud is when you spent too much 1-20 then you hit 20 and you don't have 2.5p.
