Vindictus: Episode 6 Now Live

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

The Vindictus team has announced that Episode 6 is now live across all servers. The new update brings new content in the town of Rocheste, PVP Duel Mode,  the Expertise crafting system, character transformations, an increased Level Cap (level 70), new dungeons and bosses and more.

Expertise System

Players will now be able to learn new Expertise skills to craft a wide variety of useful items to trade, sell or equip. All players level 22 or above can learn cooking, and additionally they can choose between the following five expertise areas: Weaponsmithing (physical weapons), Sewing (cloth armor), Goldsmithing (magical accessories and weapons), Platesmithing (medium and heavy armor) and Armorsmithing (plate armor).

Powerful Transformations

Something is wrong with the oracle, Tieve, and an ancient power held by the mysterious Silent Brotherhood may be her only hope. To harness this power, the player will be tested and must choose the path of light or darkness. This decision opens up the ability for the player to transform during battle into either the righteous Paladin or the shadowy Dark Knight.

Only reason I keep playing this game is because it has alot of potential and its one of the best looking RPGs available right now. Can't wait to see how far this game will go and evolve and hopefully it influences more companies to make their games at this level of detail. Such as TERA.

Just imagine an open world Vindictus kind of game.

Game us superb, but Nexon support and community is really bad. Not even talk about Nexon EU that ignoring ppl since August 2010 showing us one page with "comming soon" and deleting our posts from forum. Game is great but no way i will join even if they start in EU with lack / no support.

Bah... still unplayable in Europe. No clue why they can't allow European IPs just on US servers. Are there servers so full or what, that they can't take in a handful of Europeans?

Nexon is probably the worst MMORPG "Hoster"(?) there is.

I've never seen a company ignoring and fooling users as much as Nexon EU does.

Saying it will be released at the end of 2010 and then just removing the releasedate without any news/tweet/blogpost which says "sorry it will take a bit longer"... What I think they'Re doing is:

They just pretended to release it for the Europeans that europeans would stop visiting the American Servers with a Proxy and just wait for the European Version.... Smart move nexon

    Didn't work for me...

Yeah so far it is only US & Canada (and Mexico? I forget, havn't touched the game in so long..).

There was word of a global version way back in Dec. but that never happened, personally I don't feel you are missing out on much. It was one of my most anticipated games and didn't quite live up to expectations, now i'm lucky if I even play it once every couple of months, I know it's been atleast 3 since I last played for only a few minutes.

they blocked proxifier already....they dont want australian, asian, malaysian and etc to play on their servers.........solution? don't support them, play other games.

if you got more customers , you get money coz people will buy stuff from your store.

i actaully want to buy a few stuff from the shop, like tatoo, shirt, bag and etc...which cost more than USD $50 but they don't want asian money, so i can't buy..  :-(

that reminds me of RF online, they block all Asian IP . In the end, the game close down, must be profit issue.

these companines must wake up already, the Asians got more spending power nowadays, this is 2011, this is not 1950.

I came into it thinking "How can i get bored when this game has all of the elements i love about video games. But these were factors (To me) that made the game meh.

1.One male character = everyone is lann no matter how you try to customize him

2.Have to grind bosses multiple times for a drop that has a very low chance of dropping (But this might be offset that once it drops everyone in the party can loot it instead of rolling for it)

3.So instanced that once you've ran threw an instance you just about saw everything

4.Bosses are way to easy (Ogre King is a joke)

These are just some of my opnion's but these are the things that had me uninstall. Maybe if they bring out the other male character and increase the difficulty i will return.

I was bored out of my mind after a week, updates are not going to help this game much.  Cute game, but it cannot compete with what is out there in this day and age.

1.Gender lock never bothered me.  I just don't have any hang up about playing the opposite gender. Also considering all the High quality animations a character does, and in detail, I'm not surprised it's that way. After playing this then watching my bro play rift, and roommate play wow, all I can say is damn the animations are good in Vindictus. Other MMOs look stiff and robotic in comparison.

2.The boss grind is quite true, though it's really no different than grinding a dungeon in any other MMO in length of time. Though I do wish there was less trash loot from bosses.

3.True, not gunna lie about it. I think it has to do with the Half Life engine. Vindictus is ran similar to team fortress. A player hosts the dungeon, which keeps the bandwidth lower and allows more people.  As you noticed Nexon blocked proxies for this reason. They can't host and they can't play very well with people in NA due to latency. This isn't a numbers game like standard MMOs. it's sword fighting in a FPS engine.

4.Ogre King, who's that? I've never heard of that one. Closest thing I can think of is Black Hammer, who isn't even released in NA yet.  Really, since Hero mode and Gauntlets were released a few weeks ago(all mobs and bosses get a hp, speed, and dmg boost), some missions I haven't even beat. Maybe I'm just rusty from playing standard tab targetting MMOs, but I find this game quite a challenge.

Only things I don't like atm is the way we can't just learn all the crafting like in Mabinogi, and how it stonewalls you once you hit 89-99 range, and again at 189-199.  It's like Nexon said, Now you need a guild, and we're putting artificial breaks on your craft leveling. And the dye system. Can't we just have the korean version already? >.<

I'd actually be playing right now, but I'm going to sleep from having played it all night. Free boat weekend and all.

It uses a P2P system so if you host you'll lag everyone.

Talk to Nexon EU, NA has nothing to do with EU release.
