Hey everyone! Im just curious if anyone else has an opinion or wants to share their settings and frame rates that you get on RIft. I currently have the i7 980X 6 core cpu, 12GB of ddr3 1600mhz ram, evga GTX 580, and the game itself is on my Solid state drive. With every setting at the max it can go, shadows off (personally don't like shadows lol), and super sampling i am sitting at 45-50 fps, with super off and im at 70+. I load into the game in under 4 seconds, I never feel any sort of strain, even loading into meridian... I read that 60 FPS is where no noticable changes can occur, is 50 close to the same thing?

I've heard it's 30 where no noticeable changes occur. Either way that's a nice rig you got. That's what it takes to max out Rift!

On Ultra settings (no AA) I get 40-50 depending with the rig in my sig. In busy rifts it drops into 20s easily.

With the laptop in my sig I get 25-30 in ultra with teens in busy rifts.

Over 35 fps you can't tell the difference. meaning 120 fps is going to look the same as 60fps.

When I put all on max i get 27 fps and it drops to 12fps in rifts. put it to high its usually running around 37 fps but it still drops a lot in rifts to about 15.

In normal games my pc runs fine but mmorpgs it always suffers.

I do have a very good system and conncection, but I have been able to run Rift on max settings with no discernable lag. When doing PvP I turned it down to medium just to be safe, but I am not sure I even need to do that.

I have a good Rig, not the same level as the OP but I am able to fun on Ultra with a return in FPS of 30-60 depending on the area.  The only thing that has ever let me down was the BT issue with the Latency times, but that's all cleared up now.

I have a decent computer, probably two to three years old on most components, and Rift absolutely chugs, 35 fps if I am lucky, and that's on Low.  15 fps is not uncommon.  I run WoW at maximum settings, could run WAR at near maximum settings, LoL at near maximum settings, but once I'm in Rift it's like my computer is a twelve-year-old trying to carry a dead ox.  Too many special effects and too many polygons and not enough optimization, IMO.

Intresting, I just don't get that problem.

I have an Intel Q9450 OC'ed to 3.6GHz with 8GB Ram and a GTX280, and like I said I get 3-40fps most of the time.

the frame rate of the client is a little off, I did play with 30-40 FPS a lot but it worked like 60-70 and my video card is a little more stronger then your,(gtx 490)  just feel the game, only thing I really thing rift did right is they can have a lot of players in the screen without much issue

FOR HONOR, FOR FREEDOM.... and for some money.

I get about 12 fps on low-medium settings (as a comparison I get about 50 fps in AoC at high settings).
