I had mine pop up three warnings when the download started an it blocked the whole process after that. So I didn't bother trying to download it again, just wondering if is was a program that looked like a virus or that my scanner caught something hidden in the data.

It was a false positive. This game is safe.

I'm amazed by how often this subject comes up still, anti-viruses almost always cause false positives when it comes to mmo's :P

But it's normally just from it detecting something it doesn't recognize. Most AV's just take caution when dealing with unrecognized files/formats/whatever, and see's them as potential threats, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are malicous.

MMO's are pretty much garunteed safe, unless you are in some shady backwoods browser based game, probably a good idea to listen to your AV when downloading and installing plug-in's on some random browser game.

almost always.. isnt always though.. so its always best to find out what it is thats causing the 'hit' on the Anti Virus program, your right in that it probably is a false positive.. but.. on the offchance it isnt.. its best to find out, rather than just accepting it as is.. image

Its PMB.exe.... the pando media booster ever since i downloaded the game if i am on the internet the pmb.exe is running chewing up my bandwidth. It is not a virus but completely ridiculous that this was included in the "game" download and that it is always running. Doing who knows what.Uninstalled and all is well again.

No, just installed right now, no problems.

And yeah, get rid of the pando media booster.  It's garbage.  You don't need it to play the game.  I have no idea why some free games use this thing, maybe someone more techie would know why.  Probably something to do with advertising :)
