in Xsyon: Prelude

Is there magic in the game? (Some of the concept art has me wondering)

Are there guns?

Are there intense rivalries in game between factions vying for land, resources, etc?

Is PvP a regular occurance, or something that does not concern most players?

What is the current state of the game? Released? Beta? Something else?

    1) there is no magic in the game now.

    2) no guns or ranged weapons. bows/arrows rumored to be close to release. Combat is all melee now.

    3) some rivalries exist. This will get worse as resources are used up.

    4) PvP is open world except for on tribal safe zones. Fairly easy to roam around and get into a fight.

    5) game is in "Prelude" state, meaning it is released with a limited set of features. The devs are very active, and fixes are coming in almost daily. I guess it is sort of beta, except it is "live".

    Are there guns?  No.  Bows will eventually be introduced.

    Are there intense rivalries in game between factions vying for land, resources, etc?  Not really, but the game is only a week old.  Give it more time.

    Is PvP a regular occurance, or something that does not concern most players?  There have been roaming marauders but it is not a common thing to see as of yet, from what I have seen.  People are still building up their stuff.

    What is the current state of the game? Released? Beta? Something else?  Released on the 15th of March.  First few days had unplayable lag.  This weekend the game ran great (with occassional lag spikes).

    Not yet, think they were adding bows and arrows soon.

    once we are out of prelude, then they will bring in tribe wars.

    Havent got to play much, but there was local talk(global is gone now) that PvP was happening, just not on tribal land.

    I would call this trial release number 4? 5? its suppose to be the actuall release though. full on, 40 different types of animals running around, can terraform now, and buildings are going up fast.

    Tonight i will find out how much more has changed since friday night. im in to many damned offensive guilds. :) im a hunter/warrior in this one too, go fig.

    No. No guns.

     

    No. No mechanics in place to support it.

     

    Yes. It happens a lot. It's one of the only things to do outside of your territory.

     

    Game is released. But it's not finished. A lot of things in the game are turned off, or an abstract place holder (not fully developed yet).

    There are rivalries, especially with all the people coming over from Darkfall and Mortal Online. The original playerbase, though, was extremely nonconfrontational.

    PvP is more or less going to happen to you at some point.

    Something else, definitely. Sadly, no one is quite sure what it is yet.

    Few guns and scarce ammo huh!  If true, sounds like they're trying to get a Fist of the Northstar thing going where the ones with the guns will rule and those with the sticks will pay homage.  Gather all the resources you can now because once the few guns come into play the stone throwers will be left harvesting grass.
