swtor expecting extremely high traffic

As I was about to check swtor.com/community I got this message:
"SWTOR.com is temporarily unavailable as we are experiencing extremely high traffic. Please check back again soon!"
Why are they expecting extremely high traffic? Is the release date about to be communicated? Let the speculation begin 
Edit: Apperantly I can't read. It said experiencing, I read expecting. Wishful thinking I guess... Sorry for that!
