I for one never said rift sucks o.O
I said that its a good game but I am terribly sick of quest grinders therefore I am passing it.
As for my reason to try Guild Wars 2 , is because of the dynamic event system. Oh and to see how world pvp is....And because its like..Buy to play with no subs o.O
Reason to play swtor? I liked kotor and kotor 2 o.o I wanna see teh story. If they released swtor as a singple player rpg Id still buy it and play it o.O

From the little bit I read, the whole thing seems rather hypocritical. Whiners, whining about whining. I thought the post was funny about how the mmorpg.com folks hate everything but WoW, when it's clear that WoW is about the most hated game around here :P I also see that later in the thread it degenerated into fanboism, and GW vs. GW 2 arguments.
The OP of the linked thread takes offense to an opinion article about the 5 things the writer felt Rift got wrong. The writer also wrote about the 5 things Rift got right, but of course that's mostly ignored. I feel that Jon balanced out his opnions quite well, and I mostly agreed with his sentiments.
Ironically, that thread mirrored many threads I've read at mmorpg.com.
One thing about this I want to say.
When the mmorpg.com community bash a game, it is not so much bashed as given the Casey Heynes piledriver from hell x 1000. We are very very good at it. I think by thoes standards everybody went pretty easy on Rifts. My feelings where that the genneral consensus about it was that it's a good game, very polished. Just more of the same and not the genre breaking, ass kicking second coming a lot of people around here where hoping for.
After reading the 9 pages there, I have to snicker that they on "their" forum did/turned into everything they hate about "our" forum.
Frankly, Rift was a good launch and a fairly ok game (some parts better than others). Beta kept me entertained, I played a month and ultimately decided it didn't meet my tastes. I think someone on the other forum summed it up by saying something to the extent of: Rift did it right, I can click a quest and do it without having to read it (paraphrased).
I'm not going to play the.. my game is better than your game. That's just silly. I'm a game connoisseur. I like to try a bit of everything and see where it falls. Right now I'm deep into 3DS' Super Street Fighter. Because it's new and awesome? A bit. More because it feels like a truly innovative way to play. Took and old game and perked my interest enough to make me wanna play more.
Pretty funny to read that thread. I actually read most of it and I find it odd behavior. It is not like these forums are some tightknit, close-minded community, it is a rather large and diverse one, with many different opinions. For every Rift bashing thread I see here, I see another one prasing it, saying it's one of the one best MMO's. I suppose those blinded people over there at the Rift forums don't see that, they only see the negatives.
Obviously in a Trion-run forum, you will not see too many threads about the faults of the game, but it is still kind of silly to see so many people over there unable to look at the game objectively. I always laugh when people get so offended when you insult "their" game, like they created it or something. It's just a game, everyone is entitled to their opinion about it. Don't take someone "dissing" the game you play as a personal attack on you

While it's true there are alot of hate filled, bitter trolls on MMORPG.com's forums, for the most part every game gets a pretty balanced cross section of consideration here. Trolls, fanbois, and everything in between, that's why I like it so much.

Found it kind of funny to that they stated that this site think GW2 and ToR are the best games ever and they can't fail.
I haven't been on the GW2 forum much but the ToR forum seems to get nearly as much postive/negative posting as rift does.
Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.

It sounds like that guy caught a temporary ban for possibly anything and decided to evade it by creating alternate accounts (big no no and results in a permanent ban), this has nothing to do with censorship. We welcome you all to post your positive and negative opinions as long as you are providing substance and not simply looking to troll (this cuts both ways, fans of the game can troll too!). I know things can get heated on the forums but please remember to be civil with your fellow community members, abusive or disrespectful language will not be tolerated. It's neither necessary nor appropriate to attack other users for their opinions and if anything it only makes your arguments weaker.
As for our coverage of the game, I'll let it speak for itself. We take great pride in our responsibility of being fair and honest to you our readers and that's all there is to it. No agendas, no nonsense.
