Tier/Specialized Armor Sets?

in Rift

I'm just in the process of installing Rift with overall mediocre expectations, but I was curious for all the similarities Rift has with previous MMO's, does it have Tier or Soul Specific armor sets end game? If i'm going to gear grind, I like the thought of at least working towards an armor set that aesthetically looks like it was crafted for my class. Call it a novelty but i'm a sucker for this concept.

    The gear gained thru grinding not that good most of the time. You will find that Planar gear much better. Planar gear purchased with planarites gained thru many rift raids. Its my understanding that once you get your master crafter you will be able to build the best gear. Good Luck..
