What happened to this game? I remember people claiming it was awesome before launch.

-Computer specs no one cares about: check.

-MMOs played no one cares about: check.

-Xfire stats no one cares about: check.

-Signature no one cares about: check.

    ------------------------------------------------------------
    -Narcissism: check.

Allods still is awesome, but the item shop kinda ruined the game completely. Greedy Russian developer >:(

They would have been a much bigger succes if they started with a sub-plan instead of silly korean cash item-shop :/ i played the game in closed and open beta and i were so dissapointed they went for cash shop style ruined a good game that were good enough for Sub imo...

Its not even that it was FTP, its that it was badly implamented FTP, done right its a very viable way to go, look at Turbine who dont cash crab as agresavely, offer atractave sub options, and still coin it in.

The trick, is simply not to monetse core gameplay like Aloids did. Dont cash the main dish, but the side dish, so to speak. Things like extra adventure packs, bonus classes and things.

Dayum...everyone here hasn't played this game for a while. Well anyways the game is more F2P than ever, with free holycharms, and daily quests that provide you with incense, and mounts are speculated to go free too. I recommend you try the game too, i was a cbt and i was impressed by how much it has changed. Check the official forums and read posts about people returning and their impressions. P.S this aint an advertisement...just some advice and a recommendation.

I agree with this statement, OB just showed me how they wanted to nickle and dime you (literally)

1st. They had a system in place that would make you wait in this hall for over an hour if your lvel was high enough and you died in combat (Even in pvp)--> And yes there was a CS item to prevent the wait, go figure

2nd.Then changed it to when you die you loose some stats (Everyone on there forums raged)--->CS item for that also

3rd. And finally y they switched the death mechanic to when you die, one of your gear pieces stats get inverted. Yes there was a quest to get stuff to prevent this but the quest was only once a day the only viable way for you to raid near the end was to get thes chips from the CS that would prevent you gear from being inverted. Oh last but not least they also wanted like $10-$20 for bag space 80(

It just was to much N&D for my tatse, if they would have went the LOTRO route i would have jumped on board. Now they are just trying to do quality control and bring back those who left.

If holy charms are free why does the cursed item system still exist? why the redundancy? Because they won't be free forever...

The game is full of so many greedy crutches, such as:

    - as mentioned on death items are cursed and can be cured by holy charms (limited quest amount or cash shop; currently free)

    - mounts (cash shop) travel faster than walking speed if given food (limited quest or cash shop item)

    - patronage lets you function normally in combat (quest gives 4 hours/day or cash shop if you want to play more)

PS: LoTRO's route had seen some great things...but when they do bad they own; recent token system for instance.
