Well, I'm going to be trying to get around to doing some of the stuff needed for GW2 HoM rewards.
I know it's not that much for gw2, but I pets and such.
Anyways, me and a friend are going to be hopefully doing some of these achievements. If anyone is doing them or would like to do them, by all means, let's do some of this together. I am, by no means, hardcore. I will not be on everyday to do this, but when I am on, I hope we'll be going at it.
I know some of the instances needed for the drops to give your heroes different armor aren't so easy with two. Plus, the game is just more fun with more people.
Wow, that was some bad writing. Oh well. If you wish to join me on my merry crusade, or need two more for yours, please PM me here.

What time are you on? When I'm on, I typically don't log on until about 10 pm PST. I usually play about 3 or 4 times a week. If you play around that time let me know your character name and we can set something up. I have some friends that play that I can try to drag them into a group, they have a full HOM and GWAMM but I might be able to convince them to tag along.
If I were back in the States with my Guild Wars account, I'd be happy for the help! If you are still working on it come this summer, I'll see if I can get on and we can get some stuff done together.
Good luck!

I'd be interested too. I still haven't filled my HoM yet and wasn't planning on returning until later in the spring or summer for a another run at it, but I wouldn't mind coming back out of retirement early. I play prime time EST and have open weekends for the most part.
Isn't it nice how the lack of subscription fees make efforts like this so ... effortless?
The last update which brought in the 7 Hero groups has made some things a lot easier if you are having to run things 'solo'.
I'm also trying to fill up my HoM, my ign is Raymond Gonzas. Hit me up some time.
I am a PST person, and I am on anywhere from mid day to late night. The hours/days vary with work and such. Even on days when I can play, I won't always be playing.
It's going to be something casual really. I don't really care to play everyday to grind things out.
All I have done is completed story quests in tyria/factions, some pets, and a few pieces of armor.
So that leaves a lot of stuff to do.
If you wish, Swanster Stormrider is my ingame name I am usually on. Shu Ck is my friend. We are both unguilded too.
I'd like to point out, I've run one real end game instance ever in this game. Just never had a guild or friends enough to do them. So we are both still big newbies.
I whispered you a little bit ago, you might have been afk though.
Lol, I often am <.<.
So... I've admittedly only played GW through the VERY beginning of the game then put it down.. don't really remember why. As someone who is a novice to the world... how long in game time do you think it'd take to unlock 30 of these points? I've seen some of the guides and I see the materials and what it says in terms of things you have to do in game but I've got no idea wha tmost of it means. THANKS.
Maybe this will hep keep me occupied until GW2 comes out . . .
You're going to need most of the expansions (if not all) to get 30 points. I'm not sure it's possible with just the original game, as a lot of the points will come from outfitting your heroes with alternative armor, and at least two of the pets come from different continents. You could ~probably~ get a lot of points just with the original game, but it would be very difficult as most of the points would come from titles and PvP, which are the harder things to get points for. With GWEN alone (which you need in order to do anything involving HoM anyway) you could also get a decent amount of points from making destroyer weapons, but I think that would only account for about 7 points total, give or take, even if you maxed it out. And maxing it out would take ~a lot~ of money. Like...egads amount. More than obsidian, with the current price of stone.
WIth all the expansions, you could get 30 points in a few months depending on how much you play. Clearing all the campaigns both in normal and hard mode will net you points for those titles and plenty of money to put towards buying hero armor (which will only run you like 5plat each, it's not very expensive, unless you go for the most popular stuff which might run you 10-20 plat). In Factions, you can do the baby black dodo bird thing quest (I forget what it's called) and that'll give you a point for having a unique mini pet. By the time you finish the campaigns you should have all the heroes and a max level fighting pet you can dedicate, as well as a phoenix (tameable at the end of Factions). After all that, you should have the majority of your points. You'll have to see where you stand from there and see what is the path of least resistance to getting the last few points you need. By then, you'll be familiar enough with the game to judge for yourself based on what things are selling for at the time. GW is very market-driven; prices fluctuate constantly, so it's difficult to say what's the cheapest way to go.

The pet companions can only give you 2 seperate points. One for a lvl20 common pet and one for a lvl20 rare pet. An additional rare pet wont count for a point on itself. With prophecies you have access to the UW black spider. Any additional rare pet only counts towards 5 companions, 10 companions etc bonus points.
Just go primary prof/ Ranger and always take your charm slot with you. That way you can lvl your pet while doing your normal questing. Dead pet also lvls lol.
But you are right that it is difficult to obtain a lot of points on that monument without the other campains.
For me, I had 8 points before I started paying attention to it.
It really seems if you do all the missions normal and hardmode, you'll work up quite a bit of coin. You can use the coin for the weapons that get you 1 point for the first 11 or so (2 at 7?). Instead of thinking of this as a grind, play the game and enjoy it.
So far, it's been going quick. I'm just having fun doing the missions, maybe vanquish a hard mode area every few days. What I really want to do are some of the instances that drop the armor piece for your heroes.
It seems if you push yourself to grind some of this, you would get burnt out since there are SO MANY things you can do, and they aren't overnight things.
yeah will you have to understand that these titles are tough...there are of course a few that you can pick up pretty quick but the points will come in time....Im sitting at like 27 atm and the vanquishing takes its toll (since i just ward with my ele but that is more of a personal problem. ahaha
Have you tried the combo SF eles + SABway necros for vanquishing? Loads of fun having walls of minions, massive degen, and explosions. XD Doesn't work well against destroyers though... no corpses and are resistant to fire damage and burning.
Well you do know that vanquishing is only one way to get more HoM points, so if you are not enjoying it you can do something else. I am currently sitting at 30 HoM points (here is a link to check out how I got the points), with that said I have only vanquished one area in the game in the whole time I have been playing it. Now to get to 50 HoM points I will have to vanquish , but you can get to 30 HoM without ever taking the time to vanquish one area in the game.
discord still works for most but i run (i am also working on more efficent builds) but two discords with an MM ,two Spirit spammers, warder(me) + paragone (for run speed ) and interrupt ranger.. at elast this is for EotN zones...I have no problem with vanquishing it just takes time...and PvE gets to em after a while so i find a lot of my time on LoL for PvP (Since im guildless)
I had 18 pts when the HoM went live, mostly due to all the minis I acquired through 13 characters across 5 years. I only had 1, maybe 2 titles, but completing the campaigns at all gives you 3 pts easy. I would advise trying the challenge missions before shelling out for hero armors, because they are quite doable and free is better than 5k. Except for Glint's challenge, I can't hack that one at all....
Have you completed War In Kryta? There's probably 2 free Oppressors weapons in it for you if so, plus lots of cash to finance other pursuits. I've hardly vanquished, but I do treasure chest runs in Elona, which also gives a lot of cash.
I found the Black Moa Bird easier to acquire than the Imperial Phoenix, but YMMV.
All in all, I've done very little grinding, and mostly viewed things like the incubator kit or challenge missions as nifty little side quests. I've had a lot of fun filling my HoM without burning out.
I'm working on the armor. One sapphire short of vabbian armor, thats 1 point. If I can sell the everlasting cottontail tonic I just got from Nicholas I'll have almost all the ectos needed for obsidian armor, another point. Then I'll just need elite luxon to have the all the armor points.
Have a mesmer in pre working on Legendary Defender of Ascalon title.
Post warrior is 1k away from max drunkard title.
3 toons working on survivor.
I think I might have a saphire somewhere in my storage if you want i can check it out just tell me your IGN or PM it and we can make the trade IF i have it that is but i'm pretty sure i do.
and on a sidenote I recently decided to start a new character in Prophecies for the Pre-Searing title and the Survivor track if anyone's interested let me know ^^
So...uh yeah...i guess that WAS the bomb trigger o.O hehe oops :$
Question... is the survivor title account-wide ? Thx in advance
Right now just trying to complete prophecies missions and bonuses but can't find much help.
My theme song.
No
I gave up at 13 I think, GW Is not my kind of game I guess, I enjoyed in the factions campaign but nightfall bursted me out(I hate yo bloody Margonites and those bloody realms that debuffs everyone screw you!) and I could not support to play the entire prophecies...
I can not create cross class builds and I think that this limits my efficience, so one day I just gave up =/
But its a nice game

If you decide to try again just use some of the PVX builds. And with using heros you can pretty much go afk and let your heros fight everything through most of the content (normal anyway, hard modes you'll have to do some things for that).
I would like to create one of my own but I could not think of any good one =P
And even when I got one in PvX It didnt worked for me
