It feels good to have the random excitement of Patch Notes back!

Seriously, the last few MMO's I have played, the patch notes would either be sub-par or some really lame event that I had no intrest in (DCU Valentines day update).

 

I had a rush this morning going onto my Rift patcher and reading the update notes, not because there "Was alot" to read, more because there was huge signifcant changes, and I didnt expect them at all.

 

It reminded me of playing EQ Adventures on the PS2 at my friends house, and late at night we would see a huge update out of nowhere and after reading all the changes would be so eager to try out the game world again.

 

Thats basically what I felt today with Rift, its a game I bought on a whim and didnt expect to play it more than a couple hours and now I cant wait to see what each new patch holds.

 

Plus thats the other big deal for me, theres actually new things with this patch, Video Capture is an awesome community building tool and just an awesome thing to have in your game. The new invasions, class tweaks, UI changes. Some people will say they just put this out to keep subscribers.....

 

Um Yeah? Good! I want a company that wants me to play longer, and they arent just adding things for the endgame they are making the entire game better, anyone else excited about this patch?

    They hurt my bard somewhat, but I hear mages did well. The new world event is interesting, it’s just starting up, but we've already seen some new things, though they could have planned it better, as freemarch was lagtastic with all lvls competing for the new rifts.


     


    Personally I prefer regular new content for a sub, rather than pay to win, item shops or major expansions. If they keep this up we could see a very loyal core to rift, same as EVE, where the focus is on making the sub the best value it can be.


     


    Its also nice to experience changes to everything, like in beta.

    From all the QQing going on in the PvP and Class forums over there today you'd think the sky had fallen...when in fact a very good thing has happened.

    A company committed to quality that goes to great lengths to treat their community with respect? Unheard of!

    Unfortunatelly I've been held prisoner at work all day today and so far have only read about it. Can't wait to get home and check it out.

    The patch was definately awesome, I mean a patch like that only after what a month of gameplay? I have been impressed with Trion as a whole they have really impressed me with a lot of things.

    If they continue at the same pace imagine what will be available after 2 or 3 years of updates.

    @ OP..

    Yes "Video Capture" is VERY good,i agree with it bigtime.

    Too bad Rifts and Invasions are poorly designed,they need a heck of a lot more than "tweaks" but for video capture,that is a good selling point,at least to me it is.

    Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

    I hate the be the glass is half empty but I hope they are not setting the bar too high a 30 schedule may be a bit to keep up with time will tell.  I really am enjoying this patch, I play a sab and with the so called nerf my damage is about the same but less spike is less aggro for me which is fine with this squishy rogue.

    The patch lookds good.

    BUT do bear in mind that most MMOs have more beefy updates after launch. I've seen this in quite a few MMOs now and a lot of them did not keep it up.

    I can't think of another MMO that's gotten this much patching/updates only a month after release.. I remember in AION it took close to 7 months to get anything but minor patches..
