Server Population

Hey all, I was just wondering what the average population of the servers was in AC2. Any information would be great!

Unless Turbine stated the populations somewhere on the forums and I missed it, right now there's no way to tell. If I had to take a guess I would say between 250-300 on each server at peak time. So the total would be around 500-600 on the two main servers. Not horrible but definetly not the expected or acceptable popluations og major or should have been major MMO.

Jag I think you are low actually.  I personally believe it is between 300-450 per server now.  Which is still very low.... lol

If people would start reviewing the xpac I think we would see another increase of players.

  • ElapsedElapsed Member UncommonPosts: 2,329

You think that high? I'm not sure the expansion was so succesful, seeing as there are so many preorder boxes still sitting in all the EB's around here.

When Turbine made everyone switch over to the new launcher the peak populations were around 250. I assumed the population probably dropped off more after that over the next couple months. Then there was probably a slight recovery a little before the expansion came out and then a little when it was finally released.

I guess I did low ball it a little bit, I'd like to change my answer to 300-350.

If you are interested in the game, try the free trial and see if you like it. Don't worry yourself with other players. There are enough people to get some good quest groups by the mid levels.

The xpack is just more of the same, Storm. If what AC2 had before didn't keep players, more of the "same old thing" is not going to help. The game's vision is both flawed and lacking.

After the double XP weekend this week I logged into AC2 last night for a few hours and both /cg and /ct were utterly dead. Nobody in Soul Foundry region for miles. Nobody in the Garden region for miles. So I hit Osteth and it was similarly dead.

Don't base your population estimates on one weekend where Turbine handed out loot so good they now say they have to delete it. Day-to-day this game is just not getting the attention of players, and I don't expect that to change given the current lack of vision and lack of funding for the game.

The adventure is in the journey itself.

Thanks Thor. With players like you spreading such wonderful word of mouth this game should be dead in no time. It's a shame too, because I really enjoy it (the xpac was a good addition). And your comment is a little misleading. To me it sounds as if all loot received on that weekend was being deleted, when only a small fraction of it is, because ridiculous weapons that mobs use accidentally got into the rotation. I know, I'm being picky. :)

LoL...just Thor making his daily rounds to all the boards he's not yet banned from to spread his dislike of a game he doesn't even have to pay for to play....oh wait, he doesn't really play and bases his "facts" on logging in for 5-10 minutes...quality person there.

    "The Perfect Mount"
    by Hilde of Thistledown
    May 23, 2005

"Having fun?" I opened my eyes slowly. A pair of shockingly deep emerald eyes looked down at me in mirth. I looked past the eyes, and the face they belonged to, and looked instead up to the bright light that shone down into the Hall.

I shrugged my shoulders, mumbling something incomprehensible. I lay stretched out on one of the long wooden tables placed around the hall. My hands were folded behind my head, cushioning my neck. After a moment I began the close my eyes again.

"Now, now." The green eyes were back. I looked up more, to that infuriating smile. "Don’t wander off. I have a present for you." Suddenly a small glass bottle was swinging back and forth slowly in front of my gaze. A bright green liquid swished inside of it.

I bolted upright, reaching out for the ichor, turning my torso as he pulled it beyond my reach. I had recently run low on my own supply of ichors. The battles were only getting fiercer, and it was hard for one Enchanter to survive on her own.

He held the ichor up, the pulled it behind his back. "Sonek!" I said sternly. "I thought it was a present."

"It is, but you have to say please first." He smiled again, that smile that makes me want to strangle and hug him at the same time. I pulled myself off of the table, stepping up to him.

"Please Sonek, pretty please." I begged. "You know I am almost out."

He looked upwards in a pantomime of thinking it over. "I dunno… It’s your responsibility to keep up with these things…"

"You know I’ve never gone out to get those things myself. I would always get them from-" I shut up quickly, a sadness washed over my eyes. I had not wanted to say my patron’s name. He had been missing for months now, and no word. I always worried now, when I thought of him.

Sonek noticed the look in my eyes and lower his arms to his sides. "Don’t worry, he’ll come back. I know he will."

I turned my gaze to the entrance to the hall. My eyes shining. "I keep thinking I’ll see him whenever I come in. Remember how he would stand around by the entrance? He would always wear that all black armor, looking like a Tyrant had belched on him." I laughed a very small laugh. "He would wait for me all the time; always with a present for me. Some piece of armor, or jewelry, and ichors…" I looked down at my hands.

Sonek smiled. "Yeah, and me and Laucian would complain, asking why you got all the good stuff." He laughed. "And he would say that he would only spoil one vassal."

"Laucian is gone too. One by one, they all disappeared, or left." I looked up from the floor, my gaze sweeping over my surroundings. "It’s the same Hall…"

"…But a different Allegiance." Sonek finished for me. "I know."

I looked up at him. He did know. He understood. I felt tears welling up in my eyes. I saw him lift his hand to… do something. But he was interrupted by a voice from the entrance. "What’s with all this gloom? Everyone should be happy!"

I turned to the voice. "Stumpy! I haven’t seen you in forever!" I launched myself at my former monarch, hugging him fiercely. Stumpy was short by lugian standards, some humans were taller in fact, but he was still a head taller than I was, and quite sturdy. So my glomp, which would have felled a human, barely fazed him.

"Hilde!" He cried happily, embracing me gently. I felt the air squeeze out of my lungs and I wheezed. He let go quickly. "Oops! Hehe, sorry." He smiled down at me. A big wide grin that made me smile too, every time I saw it. He looked past me. "Sonek! You’re here too, this is great!" I looked slightly puzzled. "Does either of you have your Hero Mounts yet?" He asked.

I shook my head, looking at Sonek, then back at Stumpy. "No, we haven’t."

Stumpy’s smile grew wider. "Great! We can do it now!"

My eyes widened. "Really? Right now?"

    "Of course!"

"That would be great." Sonek said, getting excited at the idea.

"Yay!" I yelled happily. "How many people do we need?"

"We’ll need a whole group." Sonek said. "There will be Tyrants. Tyrants mean trouble."

I quailed at the thought of going up against dragons the size of houses. "Yeah… we should have a group. I can be in the back then."

"Nah!" Stumpy said cheerfully. "We won’t need a group, we have me! Rawr!"

I looked at Stumpy doubtfully. It was true that he was strong, very strong. But what could he do against a Tyrant? "If you say so." I said at last.

    "That’s the spirit! Let’s go!"

    *****

"Ok, now here comes the hard part." Stumpy told me, Sonek, and one other person we had picked up along the way. We were lined up in front of him; each of us mounted up on Atuars. Stumpy pointed to the small ridge that slowly let up a high cliff. "This ridge here will lead to the plateau. There are powerful monsters up there, so please be careful. I will go first and try to draw most of them off. Try to stay in sight of each other so you don’t get lost."

We three nodded. "Ok, let’s go." He dug his heels into his mount’s sides and set off up the ridge. Our new companion followed. The ridge was narrow, so there wasn’t room for two mounts side by side. I started to go next, but Sonek stopped me. "Wait." He said. He took my hand in his own, palm facing up. He dropped a tiny glass bottle into it, filled with a bright green liquid. "Be careful." He said, then rode off. I blinked for a few seconds, then headed off after the others.

I remember the events of the next few minutes as a blur of white snow and blue sky as I tried to steer my Ataur up the slope, with only a single thought in my mind. ‘There are ice golems up here?!’ I saw another Atuar ahead of me, but it was too far away to distinguish the rider. I steered my way towards it, but found myself blocked by the golems. I halted my mount, surveying the half dozen golems ringed out in from of me. My hands began to shake so I gripped the reins tighter.

I pulled out the ichor, popping the top of the bottle off with one hand. I drank it down in one gulp, feeling energized immediately. I dug my heels firmly into my mount’s sides, steering it directly into the golems. They attacked as one, swinging frosted limbs up, flinging icy daggers at me. They cute through my skin painfully, but the wounds closed almost immediately. It hurt immensely, but I would live.

Then I was through. The path lay open before me, and I was leaving the golems in my dust. I caught up with my companions, panting lightly. Not from exertion, but from nerves. Alas, before my heart rate could return to normal, there was another scare. "Tyrant!" Stumpy shouted. And so it was. One of the largest I had ever seen. It reared up out of nowhere to shoot flames down on the party.

A scream died in my throat as my Atuar reared up, throwing me back. I cancelled the summon, it would be of no use to me right now. I needed my hands free to use my staff. I quickly cast an impenetrability spell on the party. Sonek was in the back, drawing his bow. I summoned my Axe Orb, sending it out to the giant dragon. The tyrant barely noticed the tiny orb, I then noticed it’s eyes had a glazed look and it didn’t seem to care what it was burning with it’s flames. I noticed then as well, that it didn’t look particularly healthy. It’s skin was oozing dark pus in some places and the membrane of its wings was dried out.

It was crazed by sickness and pain, and on a rampage. Any damage we inflicted on it, it wouldn’t notice the slightest bit. There was no way we could win against this creature. Suddenly a large rock flew through the air, hitting the Tyrant right above the eye. That seemed to clear its mind somewhat, as it’s eyes immediately reddened with anger. "Over here!" I heard a shout behind me. I turned and saw Stumpy waving at the gromnie wildly. He hefted another rock and launched it at the tyrant, this time striking it’s snout. It roared in anger, and set off towards Stumpy. Its stride was slow, but massive, and the earth trembled. "Go!" Stumpy shouted to the rest of us, pointing behind the Tyrant. "Get the eggs!" He shouted, then set off down the slope, the Tyrant in hot pursuit.

We didn’t need to be told twice. We dashed off in the opposite direction. The tyrant’s nest was easy to spot and we made a beeline for it. I skidded to a halt right in front of it, nearly falling backwards as the snow beneath my feet gave me no friction. There were precisely three eggs nestled amongst the tree branches, bones, and other rubbish that compiled the next. Like their mother, they too were not well. A sickly black growth had spread over the eggs, leeching the life from within. These eggs would never hatch.

My hands trembling slightly I reached in and lifted out one of the eggs. It was almost too big for me to hold, but small compared to a normal tyrants egg. I placed it within the magical confines of my pack, knowing it would be safe there. For now.

We were getting ready to mount up again, when Stumpy appeared then, his usual wide grin on his face. "Stumpy!" I cried startled.

"What happened to the Tyrant?" Sonek asked.

"Well, it was chasing me, the only place I could go was down, back down to the ice golems." Stumpy explained. I gasped in horror. Surely between the golems and the Tyrant; Stumpy should’ve been killed! "I thought I was a goner there, but the Tyrant stepped on a few of the golems while he tried to get me." He laughed. "The golems didn’t take to that too kindly. I managed to slip away in all the commotion." I merely looked at him stunned. Sonek laughed. "So, are we all ready?"

"Almost." I said. "But these eggs are sick, they won’t hatch." I showed him the black growth on my egg, then put it back into my pack.

"Hmmm." Stumpy thought for a moment. "I think I know someone who can help us. On to Mayoi!" he declared.

    *****

I sat on the grass, looking over the sloping hills and swamps of Omishan. Stumpy was talking to a friend of his who was an egg collector. I plucked a blade of grass out of the ground and twirled it around between my thumb and forefinger. Sonek plunked himself onto the ground next to me, his bow sideways across his knees. "What’s up?" He asked.

"I’ve just been thinking…" I said, my attention still on the blade of grass in my fingers, a look of concentration on my face. "Does Stumpy know everyone?" I asked.

Sonek laughed. "I haven’t met anyone he doesn’t know."

"Just checking." I dropped the bit of grass and stood up, brushing off my armor. "Where are we headed next?"

"Water Temple. The egg collector said that there would be a place to cleanse the eggs there."

I took my egg from my pack for what felt like the hundredth time. Slowly I had become attached to it, to the tiny life inside, that would soon die if something weren’t done. "Let’s go." I said, putting the egg away carefully.

We four summoned our mounts again. Stumpy pulled out his map and began to plot the route. "Water Temple, Water Temple, ah, here it is. So we should just head north along here…" He gestured on the map, tracing a line.

Something about that name sparked something in my mind, something from a long time ago, years perhaps, long before I became a hero…

"Ok, let’s go." Stumpy rolled up his map and him, Sonek, and that last traveler whose name I don’t recall set off north, into the swamps.

Then it hit me. I knew that place! I had gone there many times before. It was a deceptive place to get to. It looked easy on the map, but there were impassable hills that you had to go all the way around before you got to the temple. An old friend had shown me the narrow pass that led up to the portal, and the way to get to it. I turned my Atuar and plunged into the ringway portal.

"Hey!" Sonek said, noticing my absense from the group. "Where did Hilde go?"

Stumpy looked at his map again, somehow steering his mount at the same time, looking for the ringway portal I entered, and where it led. "I don’t know… What is she doing way over there?"

As soon as the portal relinquished me, I plunged into the next one, appearing far in the north, above the Water Temple. "She’s taking a shortcut!" Stumpy said, realizing.

Sonek laughed. "It won’t help her, we’re almost there while she is in portal space."

I exited the second portal, steering my Atuar into the swampy water. I soon spotted the ridge and began climbing. Stumpy’s group had just reached the hills.

    *****

The Mimbu that inhabited the Water Temple were vicious, but extraordinarily weak. I cleared the way to the depths of the Temple on my own, leaving a clear path for Stumpy and Sonek. When they arrived I was staring at three large Obelisks in the back of the temple. "I don’t remember those being here." I said when they entered.

"They’re new." Stumpy said. "Well, newer than the rest of the Temple. You have to touch them in a certain order to get to the area below us."

I turned to him. "And you of course, know the sequence."

    He smiled. "Of course."

"All right then." Sonek stepped up to the Obelisks. "Me first."

"Okay Sonek, the sequence is center, left, center, left, right, left, right, center, left, left, right, center." Stumpy said.

Sonek blinked at him for a second. "What?"

Stumpy laughed. "Sorry, ok, slower this time." He called out the sequence again, naming the next one as Sonek touched it. After he touched the final one, Sonek vanished. Then our companion went after him. "Ok, Hilde, you last, and be careful. There is a powerful guardian down there. It protects the fountain." He called out the sequence again and I was soon drawn into portal space.

I popped in next to the others. "Ready?" He asked. We nodded, and started down the spiral path to a shimmering light below us.

I spotted guardian, cast Mesmerize on him, and prayed. The spell hit and the thing didn’t even notice us, too absorbed by the colors before it’s gaze. We hurried past, keeping silent though there was no need. And there before us was the fountain. At least, I thought it was one. It was hard to tell, as it seemed to be made of the surrounding rock. The water gushing forth was the cleanest water I had ever seen. It’s sparkled so brightly my eyes were dazzled.

I carefully took the egg from my pack. It’s dark, sickly patches seeming much more magnified against this shimmering light. I gently placed the egg into the water, submerging it completely. My hands tingled as the water ran over them. On either side of me my companions did the same. After a little while, I brought the egg back up.

My mouth hung open slightly. My sick tyrant egg had been transformed. It shone like a jewel now, the eggshell had a crystalline quality to it, and I could almost see through it and make out the sleeping form within. I couldn’t help but smile when I saw it. We each placed our eggs into our packs and began to slip past the guardian again. Suddenly we heard a roar. "Yikes! ‘Mezz’ wore off! Run for it!" I shouted.

We all bolted up the ramp. Or at least I thought we all did. I turned back and saw Sonek still at the bottom, calmly drawing his bow. "Sonek! Are you insane?!" I screamed at him. "Run! Before it wears off altogether!"

Sonek calmly strung an arrow across his bow. "I’m going to take it on." He said, deadly serious.

I stared at him in disbelief. He raised his bow up, took careful aim, and set fly a scorching arrow. It hit the guardian dead center of its face. Without a sound it stopped moving, then fell backwards with a crash. I gaped at the fallen monster. Then I turned to look at Sonek. He grinned.

I exploded. "You fool!" I screamed at him. "You could have been killed!"

"That monster was a joke." He said, still grinning.

"Still!" I screamed again. "We didn’t know how powerful it was! How could you take such a risk?" There were tears in my eyes, but I couldn’t fathom why. I quickly turned and ran up the ramp, not wanting him to see.

    *****

"What nesting Tyrant would want three unknown eggs to intrude on her nest?" I asked as we were riding away from the Water Temple. "And from humans no less."

    "No worries." Stumpy said, grinning.

He led us through Omishan and we eventually reached a stretched of coast. Out on the water I could make out an island. I squinted, blocking the sun out with one hand, trying to see more clearly. "Ok!" Stumpy yelled. "Jump in!"

I steered my mount into the water, trying to pull my feet up so they didn’t get wet. It was no use, my feet always got wet. I sighed.

Suddenly I heard a loud splash a giant spray of water hit me from the side. I sputtered, bringing up my hands to wipe my eyes. "What the…" I looked and saw Sonek grinning at me, somehow remaining completely dry. I narrowed my eyes at him.

As we got closer to the small island I saw a dark shaped crouched in the center. It was a tyrant! Stumpy hit the shore first. He steered around to the front of the giant and waited. The rest of us followed. "OK, give your eggs to the nesting tyrant." He said casually, as if it were nothing. Like delivering a SHRETH package. Well, maybe that analogy was a little too close to the actual situation.

I watched my two companions carefully give their eggs to the nesting mother. How did they make it look so easy? If that tyrant sees us as a threat to her babies, we were toast. Then it was my turn. I swallowed, though my mouth was dry. I stepped forward nervously, kneeling down and placing my egg at the edge of the nest. The tyrant swung her enormous head down to me, so her snout was just inches from me. She sniffed the egg over, then pushed it into the nest with the others. She ignored me all together.

Our three eggs glittered next to the others in the nest. I moved a few feet back and watched them. "How long till they hatch?" I asked.

"It varies. You’ll just have to wait." Stumpy said. "It might be a long time though."

I nodded, not taking my eyes off of the nest. "I’ll wait." I said. I sat on the ground, making myself comfortable.

"Well, I have to go for now." Stumpy said. "I wish I could stay and keep you company, but I’m needed for another quest."

"No, it’s ok, we have it from here." Sonek said.

    *****

A prodding in my ribs brought me awake. "Nnngh!" I mumbled, trying to push away whatever was poking me. But it persisted.

"Come on, wake up." Suddenly I was fully awake. I sat up abruptly. When had I fallen asleep? Sonek smiled at me. "Finally. I thought you were going to miss the hatching."

    "It’s hatching already?" I asked.

"Yeah, that other guy’s hatched first, he left a couple of hours ago. Mine hatched not too long ago." He held up a piece of glittering crystal. It took me a second to realize it was a small piece of the crystalline eggshell.

Before I had time to be puzzled, something pushed into my side. I turned and stared right into the nesting mother’s snout. I choked back a cry of alarm; sure that would exactly the wrong thing to do. The large snout pushed something into my hands. It was my egg, and something inside of it was trying to get out.

I set it down carefully as the top popped off with a cracked. A long scaly tail and rear poked out of the egg. With one last burst of energy from the small form within, the entire egg shattered and the baby tyrant sat before me, blinking in the late evening light.

I looked up at the tyrant mother, but she was shifting her own eggs around in her nest, taking no notice of the new baby. I reached out to the newborn carefully, not sure what would happen, or if I would lose my hand altogether. It craned its little neck out and sniffed my hand curiously. It made a high chirping sound and nuzzled under my hand, rubbing against the gauntlet. Then it took a few stumbling steps towards me and fell into my lap.

The tyrant was heavy and filled my whole lap, but I merely smiled as I looked over it. It had no wings, just long dark scars on its back. The black growth that had nearly killed it had probably eaten them away. Plus, it was tiny, smaller than a runt even. It probably would never grow very big. "Won’t my armor bother it?" I asked.

Sonek shrugged. "Probably not, it’s not as tough as tyrant scales. I want to get a set of tyrant armor one day, it’s supposed to be the best." He got a dreamy look on his face.

"Don’t!" I cried, covering the sides of my tyrant’s head with my hands. "He might hear you!"

Sonek laughed. "Are you ready to go?"

"Not yet." I said. "I am thinking of a name."

Sonek blinked. "A name? What are you going to name it?"

I thought back over this whole quest, how many times I had been in danger, and how many times I was confused and lost. "Stumpy." I said. "His name is Stumpy." I grinned.

Sonek laughed again. "Don’t forget your shard." He reminded me. "That way you can summon him whenever you need him."

I nodded, selecting a tiny piece of eggshell from the rest of the pile. The piece I selected glowed brightly for a second, then died down. The rest of the pieces darkened, then crumbled into dust. I touched the eggshell to my tyrant’s head and it vanished. Then Sonek and I packed up and set off. "I will say one thing." He said, as we were leaving. "I am jealous yours is blue. Mine’s orange." He sulked for a bit. "Wanna trade?" He asked.

"I wouldn’t trade Stumpy for the world." I said, grinning.

There seem to be a lot of old players coming back(at least for the 30 days to try it again) so populations seem to be improving. Also, several new players have asked me questions about lower level quests simply because of seeing my name in general chat. That's a good sign to me.

Standard AC2 fanbois response - attack the poster rather than deal with the topic at hand. Legions is not really a change. It is precisely more of the same mindset that gave us Hero 1.0, just in a slightly different wrapper. There are posts in multiple AC2 forums of players who returned, looked at it, and realized it is still the same thing. That's neither bad nor good, it's just a statement of what is. The problem comes when you realize that not many people liked the game as it was and won't like it as it is either.

And if you think one person can kill a game just by making negative comments, then maybe I ought to get the competition to pay me, eh? My posts would be so valuable to them, right? ::::05::

The adventure is in the journey itself.

The thing is, Thor, that you post so much about the same thing over and over again. At least lately (in the last 6 months) you have. And you have the wonderful knack for putting a terrible spin on things, like you did earlier in this post. The unfortunate thing is that I no longer see the objective posts I used to see from you. They all seem very much destructive. Before you would offer decent conversations on how you would like to see things progress. Not so anymore, though you do still come up with a decent one every once and a while. I still try to read your posts as they are and not be swayed by the awful taste your previous posts have left in my mouth.

To me it appears that you are upset about not having things progress they way you would have liked. While I can understand this, I certainly do not share your same views on the game. In which case I guess I am personally glad about the choices the developers have made in the game. I find the expansion to be a lot of fun with a bunch of different things to try out. And I also like the new hero system thus far. I definately have a different play style than before.

As for truly "new" things to do in the expansion. I have yet to come across an expansion for any of the MMOs I have tried that has anything truly new in it. Usually I'd need a completely different game. But I'm sure you and I have had completely different experiences.

I don't see how any one person could be held responsible for the demise of a game. Not even you. I don't remember seeing anyone make the specific comment. But if that were the case, wouldn't it make an interesting resume entry? ::::35::

They delete loot we got on weekend ? lol Thor, dont lie. Simple fact are - loot was great - rare items like mirra and purple items we get 10+ this weekend and they usual rare as we lucky to get 2 mirra per month and 1 purple per 2 month.  There was bug in loot table and there was 7 or 8 wepons that was not suppose to get in. This weapons got deleted as they 5 times better stat usual weapon this lvl have. They have to delete them. But they dont delete other loot that just this 7 or 8 weapons that some ( very little ) ppl get.

And fact are that since Xpack ppl do come back and we see new ppl. You may not like it Thor but game getting better and better. Xpack cant change core of game, its Xpack not new game. But AC2 have best combat system out there, this not need change. We needed more context, Better monster AI, very improved pets, more character customization. We got all this in Xpack.

Since Xpack cant do all quest with my main and hardly even got time to play 1 alt. So much think to do and not time for all. Seen at least 4 run per every popular quest running every night. And you call this "utterly dead" /cg lol... /cg is very active and its not just trash talk like pre Xpack days... Last nigth took 5 min to get fellow for ID3 at 1am ( very late ) and there were 5 run that night...

Thor is well know troll in AC2 comunity that post negative post as offen as he can. There is no bad to post negative oppinion when they have point. But just flame left and right without point is simpe rude.

Hey all, I was just wondering what the average population of the servers was in AC2. Any information would be great!

When AC2 first came out, it had roughly 50k total players. With an avg server population of 1k to 2k.

One year after release AC2 sunk down to roughly 6k total players with and avg server population of 200 players.

Right now AC2 has not come anywhere close to its past, faded, glorious server populations when it first released. It is doing either the same, or slightly worse. IMHO still holding, lingering, on life support supplied by AC1......

As of roughly April-May 2005 AC2 has roughly 12k total accounts. There are 3 major timezones in the world (in the gaming industry. America, Europe, Asia) That is 4k possible players online at peak times. Make up for players who have to sleep, work, eat, take care of life.... who don't play anymore but pre-paid = 2k possible players online at peak time in the entire game. This is the maximum peak players. Spread accross how many servers? How many servers? Heheheh LOL! image image

Regardless of the server population this game keeps me comming back for the community.  Everyone is so involved, and there are so many people on at the same time in "metro" locations that the game really appeals to me, even though I still play lots of MMORPGs at once.

    Cheers

He is just upset that AC2 is still around after he has said many times that it is about to die. Yet here it still is, with an expansion and everything. I came back with the expansion and have met many others in game that have as well. They enjoy the new expansion and I've never had a problem finding a group starting a new player with the expansion, no matter what time of day.

So there is a chart, big whoop. What it boils down to... If you like the game, great! If you don't well find another that you like. I tried the free trial way back and loved it so I subscribed. I didn't go by anyone's reviews of the game; I went cause it was free and I wanted to try something else. I left for awhile to try EQ2 and came back to AC2 with the expansion and loving every minute of it.
