Newb questions for you Galaxies nuts!!!!

in Star Wars Galaxies

I'm gonna probably pick "total experience" or Everquest 2 and or possibly BOTH!! I got some really dumb questions for you guys. 

1) Whats the best class allaround!

2) What weapons should i consider gettings as I progress (EX. Lvl1 Rifle, then once at lvl 20:Sniper Rifle?)

3) How accessable are the expansion paks from the moment i start?

4) How's the difficulty level? (EX. Final Fantasty 11 hard?)

5) Tell me all the steps I need to do in order to get a Animal i can ride on, I call them a Mount!

6) When can i get a Speeder or vehicle and where do i get them?

7) List all the steps i need to take in order to go into space!

8) Would my computer run this game good? AMD Atholon XP 3000+, 2.2ghz computer, Win.XP, Nvidia Gefore 6600GT, and 1gig of ram!

Sorry for all of these questions!!!  Also, if you wish: Please Compare this game to Everquest 2!!

    1) Whats the best class allaround! I would have to say, whatever you enjoy. There isnt really a best, most uber class in the game, imo. Youll most probably start off with a CDEF and then youll learn what to get as you progress. Some of the high end weapons are nice though. Well JTL is accesible almost straight away, you just have a few starter quests to teach you how to fly etc. RotW isnt quite so easy, i think its reccomended youre lvl 20 upwards, but that takes barely anytime atall. 4) How's the difficulty level? (EX. Final Fantasty 11 hard?) Its no where near as hard as FFXI so dont worry about that. Its quite noobie friendly i think. Just find a good PA with people that are willing to help you out. And read some of the posts on the board about the BARC speeders etc. 5) Tell me all the steps I need to do in order to get a Animal i can ride on, I call them a Mount! Well unless you intend on being a CH (creature handler) then you can ride any mount up to level 10 (including the Varactyl). Basically talk to your local CH or Bio engineer to get one of these sorted out for you. They shouldnt cost you to much, no more than about 15k, and if youre nice you might find someone to give you one for free :) 6) When can i get a Speeder or vehicle and where do i get them?If you buy The total experience youll need to claim your BARC speeder. You will get in game instructions on how to do this. It will start in your inventory but once youve used it once and stored it, itll be in your datapad from then on. If you dont buy TTE then there are vendors everywhere selling them, even check the bazaar. They wont cost you anymore than 15k either. 7) List all the steps i need to take in order to go into space! I cant really remember them. I spoke to some people outside coronet starport and they give you a mission and full instructions. I still havnt been in space tbh, i just use it to travel faster. Well you have a very nice machine so it will run the game very well. Or as well as the game can run. Its well over the minimum specs and 1 gig of RAM will help ALOT.     THANK YOU GUYS AND GIRLS!! And i prefer this game to EQ2 by a lot. In EQ2 its all about boring quests. Yes the missions quests could be compared to SWG, but in SWG there is so much more. Having a house a huge player city. Meeting in your guild halls, crafting, buying from crafters. The economy, as inflated as it is, is great. Hope i helped in some way.

    Well, I'll answer the only question mayesey didn't cover. Getting into space is quite easy. You start the game doing random, simple tasks for a Jedi lady. When you're done doing these she'll ask you if you want to learn anything else. Say you want to be a pilot and she'll tell you where to find a trainer. Just find this person and you'll recive a starter ship for free. Very simple.

    Thanks for all your help.. All of these answers from my questions really make me want to buy Galaxies: Total Experience!  All the stuff you can do, you can ride on a mount, ride on a speeder, ride in a taxi, and best of all you can Fly in Space and dogfight!

    Thanks to you all, I will be picking up Galaxies.. Darn U!!!  Actually, THANK YOU!!!

    I'd suggest also joining a decently populated server, like Bria'. Nothing like being a new player with no one around. Kinda defeats the purpose of the MMO part of MMORPG, lol.

    If you're considering EQ2, you should just get SOE's total access pass. It's only a few dollars more per month and you get access to all of SOE's current games.

    My two favorite professions were Bounty Hunter and Commando. Both allow for immersion into the story line and have very versatile combat wise. However, no other profession gets its share of hate tells like BH. ::::35::

    You are also very much invited to join us on Naritus server, where many of the forum readers here have made a toon. that way we can help you get started, both with advice, company, equipment and cash  (no strings attached).

    I've always wanted to meet Erillion in game, i was hear awhile ago thinking about buying JTL and i first got a post from Erillion.  I want to meet up with u so bad.. I guess i'll be on one of your servers, and expect a lot of questions, I hope your ready for a newb to talk to you a lot!!!

    Add Novarider and Delos to your friend list and activate the "notification when online" option.

    Wow.. i dont think ive ever heard such possitive feed back to someone new who wants to try a game out. Ive heard alot of good things about SWG and alot of bad thing =. I think whats its coming down to for me is that i need to try it out myself. Im going to get this game as soon as i can. I must say im inpressed by what ive seen of the community so far. Im not the biggest starwars fan, but im up for just about anything once (just about). Anywho, im really interested now. =)
