Its all been done, thats why I want Vanguard

So many games try to do so manythings. It's my opinion that the best parts of MMORPG's has been done perfectly in the past. Its when they start trying to cater to the masses that things seem to go wrong. The only thing that leaves room for improvement in my sainted opinion is better and better graphics and imaginative incorporation of how you actually advance through levels. Vanguard gives me great hope for this. Taking whats already perfect and improving what isnt and making them more realistic. I dont want another game I can blow through in 2 months. I want a challenge that punishes me for being lazy and rewards me for being hardworking and intelligent. A game that whiners and bedwetters will run screaming from. I think Vanguard is it judging by the reaction from some of our "in-house" trolls. I cant wait image

Very well said. Those of us who loved pre-Velious EQ are wandering aimlessly among today's half-assed, simple MMORPG's waiting for the day this comes out.

Extremely well said, as a community were not getting catered to. The WoW monkeys have their game, but where is ours??

Heres hoping Vanguard pulls the MMOG out of the toilet .

Not to take anything from Vanguard, but some of you may want to check out Hero's Journey as well. Very different take on things. Will be nice to have games on the market that are actually THOUGHT OUT.

I just have to point out that it's Pre-Luclin EQ, not Pre-Velious EQ, that ruled. The EQ pinnacle WAS velious, even though the expansion did start off quite buggy. But yes, I am ecstatic about vanguard, though I will never whole-heartedly trust a game company again as I have been burned so many times in the past.

Yet, I have to say that many people don't realize how different this game is intended to be from traditional MMO's. It is LARGELY based on exploration, as your horse is more of a pack mule and the world and all of its races will not be clear at the launch. They also want to start a multi-armor system which was somewhat used in the kunark era, for resists, but has never really been done properly. Surely they are going more EQ-esque, traditional of a system but that doesn't neccesarily mean that NOTHING about it is new.
