    The whole map was open in E3?image

    Damn if it weren't for Vuuar's slight case of Garlic breath and nocturnal habits I might have been there. :) Oh well. Hopefully it will be out before next E3 image

    I feel better now after watching that video, since people seemed to be dissapointed in the first one. (for some reason I am not able to watch the first one...) I also had my hopes down after seeing some recent screenshots and being dissapointed.

    Things looked great to me. First, with the dragon running around and all, it looked VERY smooth, though I am sure they are playing on the most top notch computer. The dragon flying looked great with its wings flapping(though did I see a wing go through the ground? ::::04::). The shadow of the dragon loooked great, and the scaling of it to those other little people looked pretty neat, finally a game where dragons are actually HUGE compared to us little people. ::::20::

    The second thing that got me was the view distance. Although it has been bragged about, this is the first time I saw it in motion. Watching that video with that huge view distance of the mountains way far off would add SO much to the immersivness (is that a word? ::::20::). Finally views are not restricted to those mountains that you can run to in about 1 minute, or everything isnt grayed out until you get close to it. Personally I have heard people say bad things about the graphics, but although they where not EQ2 quality(on a great computer), they looked so much more realistic in terms of scaling, objects pictured, and other things.

    Looking great DnL.::::20::

    Well we now know we can ride a dargon, teleport and sprout hang gliders from our butts, oh and shield surf. Like the old hamburger commercial of years ago stated, wheres the beef? The info on crafting, the combat scenes?

    Oh and I must admit the graphics did look dated, however graphics do not make the game, of course then neither does dragon riding and butt hang gliding. Maybe rename the game Extreme Butt Hangliding and Shield Surfing? image

    Only thing I am saying is there was absolutely nothing at E3 this year that we already did not know from last year. Why didn't they show off the combat or the crafting or something besides the same old stuff? The game was supposed to be released already, and is still supposed to be released this year.

    So where is the meat of the game? I could give a crap about the fact it snows ingame and I can ski on my frigging sword. What about the magic, and the healing, the crafting and the thousand and one other things that we will be doing 95% of the time ingame. Were they so busy trying to implement the shield surfing they forgot about the rest of the game ? Is the only part of the game that's working is the anal hang glider?

    Well when you make an MMORPG with such a large expansive clipping plane, you have to sacrifice some graphics, unless you want to lose alot of frame rates.

    You'll notice with highly graphical games like EQ2 they tend to create alot of seperate zones and closed off areas for a reason.

    I think it's pretty awesome how you can go basically anywhere in the game, but it seems almost as if it's TOO open if that is such a thing. Reminds me back in the UO days where you wanna go exploring yourself and after a few hours you realized you accomplished absolutely nothing and just that the game's filled with endless (but sometimes pointless) opportunity. Maybe that's just me tho. ::::37::

    I heard the dev mention that in the winter seasons of the game, certain lakes and that freeze over, and then you can walk on them. Sound very very nice.
