If this games holds true to everything that I have been reading this will be the MMO that will hold me down for many many years, the hell with Guild Wars 2, SW:TOR and any other MMO that comes out for that matter.
I'm a huge sci fi fan and also love fantasy, i'm crazy about real world conspiracies and have been obsessed with secieties for god know how long, this almost seems to good to be true.

Yeah, and it will also be the first to keep true to pre-release promisses.
Bwahahahhahahaha, just couldn't keep a straight face anymore )
sounds good. we will see. I suggest reading some Stitchin, or "the secret teachings of all ages" Manly P Hall, or hell, even some bill cooper "behold a pale horse" really helps set the mood ;-)
To the caterpillar it is the end of the world, to the master, it is a butterfly.
There is always hope for that 'cherry high' MMO. Not a lot of hope...but some. I hope to find it...someday..somewhere.
At first I was very "meh" about it, but I am getting more and more intrigued
theres just 1 BIG but,funcom.

It does seem like a good game. But, it isn't out yet, so I will just have to wait and see. There are a lot of way that they can mess it. For instance, some people are looking forward to the PVP with skill based system. I personally am looking for a game immersed in story, puzzles, lovecraft, and Poe. Regardless, I will buy the game, and then I will see.

yes it sounds like a great game... to bad its made by Funcom
Remember Old School Ultima Online
I'm excited about TSW too, but trying to keep my expectations realistic. I love, love, love the modern day setting, conspiracy angle, and promise of puzzle solving. The 3 factions should be great for PvP. My only bummer moment was finding out that combat was manual aiming. I know many of you on this site are clamoring for that, but I hate it. If I wanted an action game I would play one, imo MMO's should have skills on a hotbar.
Anyway, really hoping this game delivers. It looks good so far, and I've wanted a horror/paranormal/gothic MMO forever.
I am going to reserve any excitement I have for this game until it launches. I believe there were threads like this about The Agency too.
TSW is one of the hopes for mmo gaming in the near future but still (though it looks and sounds promising) anything can go wrong with it.
The skills can be bland and uninspiring.
The combat can be mmorpg-unlike (aka fps game, action game, arcade shooter).
The puzzels and riddles can be anything from far to mundane to crazy weird and for a sane person unsolvable.
The world may be not immersive but looking a like cold soulless visison (some vids let me shiver not form the fear and mystery but a rather soulless approach to the world - dont know if its a real case or only a thing of having vids lack the ingame feeling).
They will have to show in real if they can deliver!

I have more faith in Funcom being able to deliver then I do for there actually being enough gamers that are interested in conspiracy stuff. I am starting to beleive that the majority of mmo gamers just don't have the mental acuity for figuring out complex puzzles. Sure there may very well be a few, but not enough to support a title.
All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.
I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.
I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.
I don't hate much, but I hate Apple© with a passion. If Steve Jobs was alive, I would punch him in the face.
Since Funcom has yet to deliver on anything MMO related in 10 years, that is saying a lot. However, MMO players tackle puzzles all the time, what do you think end-game raid bosses are? Even the tank and spank bosses in a well developed game require, coordination of healers, tanks, dps, positioning, gimick stuff...is why most guilds struggle.
Now if you are talking puzzles, like what? Funcom wouldn't put in complex puzzles to a game, they are working to apeal to as broad an audience as possible after losing 45 million from producing AoC and ROTGS and those games were generic enough to apeal to a broad audience.
Puzzles are in a lot of RPGs though and those get played way more than TSW will, Deamon souls had some, lots of Final fantasys have side puzzles, pretty much anything from square equnix will have them as side missions. Fall out 3 had a bunch as side missions, and many more. Actually, now that I think about it, EQ I had http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=1291 and WoW had http://www.wowwiki.com/Gates_of_Ahn%27Qiraj those quests where popular, required a lot of figuring stuff out, Aion and EQ 2 had stuff like that too. AoC didn't have anything involved aside from the lineage quests that was easy and every few levels a pop up would tell you where to go.
I hope the OP enjoys the game, just don't expect much quality or quantity from Funcom as AoC has zero of the original crew working on that game...it only has a few guys in canada now, so most likely the ones that didn't get let go got transfered to this AND the game has the same engine so development of content is just slow compared to all other MMOs.

This. Else URU would have been a success. Well, TSW has the shooter part to make a difference. But i lost my faith into the mmo community. I think most people just play the game with the most subs. No matter what the game offers.
TSW most likely will be my last game i give a try. Anything is more exiting then to play online games currently.
Funcom is fine as a company, it will not repeat the same bad coding mistake it made with AoC ,which will allow it to make content easier with less bugs.
The whole dumbing down the game thing happens overtime to appeal to a more broader player base, happens with all triple a titles these days.
Rise above hate.
Ignore fan boys.
You, sir, are correct.
People will play a game because it has the most players, even if there are hundreds of servers to split it up. They have the visible presence of any other, but the fact that you can meet a stranger at the supermarket and gab about gear score says a lot.

Ive also seen that those who are extremly over enthusatic first time they see a game(the hype builders) are ones who first leave when they see its not going there way hehe.
So better temper your enthusast feel of this game and just wait and see how it develops, i dont mean you should not be happy but take in concideration that its not always what it seems to be:D
Enjoy while it last its maybe a hoax or some evil conspiracy:)
