Students gets Raided over gold farming...

The FBI raided students over WoW gold farming on march 30th. They raided the apartment of a couple of University of Michigan students to investigate "potentially fraudulent sales or purchases of virtual currency that people use to advance". No arrest were made and details a bit thin but the the "FBI says it was investigating whether someone was trying to set up fraudulent bank accounts to buy and/or sell "virtual currency" or "gold" to be used in the game. Investigators took laptop computers, hard drives, video game systems, credit cards, a cell phone, paperwork and other computer equipment, documents say. They were looking for records of any online transactions with WOW, the Chinese-based gold-farming website www.gameusd.com, eBay, PayPal and the United Services Automobile Association."
Theory on the matter is that that terrorists are (or could be) using MMOs to communicate, recruit and raise funds.
My opinion on the matter is good for the FBI I hope Blizz is taking every avenue possible to get rid of these gold farming scum. After all it is not just in WoW that gold farmer are found but most if not all MMo's out there. You know after all Blizz has the capital to use for whatever gain that they may wish.

Perhaps creating bank accounts to do business with foreign companies, known for engaging in hacking (illegal) and doing so with false identification flags you as a possible terrorism threat?

The FBI doesn't care if your WoW account got hacked because you get all your stuff back. They don't care if you buy virtual currency (and then get your account hacked). They do care if you are funneling money out of the U.S. and are using illegal means to do so. Blizzard isn't the RIAA (yet).
