I hope they scrap the 360 version and Focus on making an actual good MMO on PC to begin with...
Did you even read the replies?
Its PC only.
In reply to the naysayers and failcom fans .. you also complain about AAA mmo companies never doing anything new, you say the games are the same with different skins, I for one am glad Funcom are round making games, they are the only big company with the financial backing to do something really different instead of re-releasing the same old hash time after time.
" the Revenant has formed from the restless fragments of those who, in life, did great evil. Devious and clever, the Revenants serve no master, no greater plan or intelligent design. All they crave is misery, pestilence, agony and death. They feed on terror and pain, and their presence is always an omen of impending doom."
Pyramid head indeed, yup, but short of the pyramid. Waken up!!
No wait....Pyramid head also had a massive sword, let's have a look....Yup....The revenant doesn't....Waken up!!
I'm all for Funcom bashing as I've been playing AoC since launch and they deserve it for that, but not as far as I can see for Secret World (a game I will never play btw) cut them some slack, see what happens....Give them some money to pay off Craig Morrison as AoC Game director, c'mon, help me out here.
MMORPG.com and Funcom have partnered to bring our readers and exclusive look at one of the creatures from The Secret World. Today we feature a look at The Revenant complete with lore behind the creature and exclusive screens. Check it out!

Time will show... For now all the Secred World news are quite intriguing. Can't wait to find out what percentage of the promised features will they be able to implement.

I hope these creatures can pop up at any time and wreak havoc. Like Agents in the Matrix. That'd be cool. I'd always be scared while im in the world. That'd be awesome. Suspense and tension all the time is what I want in a world like this.
The ease with which predictions are made on these forums: Fratman: "I'm saying Spring 2012 at the earliest [for TOR release]. Anyone still clinging to 2011 is deluding themself at this point."
I thought the Revenant was a player class for a minute there, phew!
Having an article based on details about one mob is streaching it to the thinest I have seen on MMORPG, let Funcom develop the game in peace.
Hey, GW2 has been doing it for 3 mob creature types now
It's a secret competition between developers: trying to get away with the most meager of updates. Today SWTOR will have a 3 page interview and in depth look on grass development and how its such a huge balancing act between eyecandy and optimization, how grass evolved during game development and can be very different between planets and how especially the renowned invisible grass types of Tatooine have been such a challenge to get just right.

Ah. but that competition has already been won. I don't think anything can beat the GW2 news item in early December that said nothing more but that there would be more actual news in the new year
Personally, I like the little updates though regarding creature backgrounds or highlighting a location in a game or background or lore of a class or race and such.

Hehe ok.

To me they are like information rations, barely keeping me interested. I really hunger for the announced big info-meals of SWTOR's full pvp presentation and GW2's WvWvW ins and outs
Tbh: I know (Funcom's) Monster Descriptions from Artbooks and most of the Time the Monster isn't even half that bad as desciped. It's always a little dissapointing to me, when you create an intense Lore behind something and then you're able to destroy "it" with 2-3Hits. It feels like destroying the lore with it.

Yeah, I know what you mean. In horror movies and books and in Lovecraft's books, the protagonists are always a lot weaker and more helpless than the monster creatures which appear as hard to beat opponents, if at all to beat and not simply temporarily stopped.
It somehow feels wrong when as a player you suddenly can mow through hordes of such creatures as if you're some kind of superhero or demigod. It makes those monsters suddenly a lot less frightening and impressive.
I know that's how things go in a game especially an MMORPG. But at least the more impressive monsters should be challenging boss mobs, and that you don't kill them but maybe just temporarily defeated them or banished them (like for a Revenant, that a small piece remains so that he'll recover after a period of time)

And this is what concerns me about TSW.... we are just seeing the same stuff... recycled and slightly modified.
they are trying to release info and yet, avoid spoiler the game, that is why you almost only see kingsmouth and the same monsters, this game is going to have a deep story and they don't want you to log in already knowing everything.

the revenant is some kind of miniboss and you can find it anywhere in the world, you just need to look out for ravens, if you find a group of ravens, there is a revenant nearby.

I think that 'The Secret World' will be the same epic fail as 'Hellgate:London' was.
That's just my opinion so please fanboys don't flame.
There is every possibility that it could be a complete failure, but to say it will fail before its even entered beta is not a guess its a pre conception, which is about as useful as a wet fire.
I think the difference between Secret World and Hellgate is Funcom have a proven track record of staying afloat even when a storm is ripping them to shreds (AoC). My only problem with the naysayers is that they base every single pre conception on Age of Conan, which is grossly unfair, Anarchy Online was a good game, The Longest Journey was a good game and by all rights AoC isnt a bad game, it just released way to early with way too much hype. Everyone said the first 20 levels were great but that it lacked in content post lvl 20, which as a result failed to retain sunscriptions .. yet here it is, still alive after a massive financial loss and here we are again with Funcom making a new MMO, something most companies would shreak at if they had the AoC experience.
Im willing to give them the benefit of the doubt with this purely because im basing my pre conceptions on The Longest Journey, which was a fantastic adventure game, but at the same time im will not blindly pre order the game without at least testing beta/open beta beforehand.
What I want to know is, if everyone thinks AoC is such a bad game, then why is it still around? If the game is nearly as bad as you say it is, why do people continue to play it? Maybe it's because the people giving disparaging remarks only played when the game was first released, when it had issues, and not recently where most, if not all, of those issue shave been resolved.
Funcom had their lesson learned, and it's my belief that TSW will be a solid game. Will it have a smooth release? Don't know. But the staff behind it is pretty dedicated, and if anything does fall short, they're get it fixed.
Has anyone played Bloodlines Champions? That's a solid game with the Funcom name on it.

Keep hammering for 3 Faction PvP Bill.
Gee you guys have short memories.
Here is the Video from 2009

And what is that? Oh...it's the same creature.
And this is what concerns me about TSW.... we are just seeing the same stuff... recycled and slightly modified.
Nothing says irony like spelling ideot wrong.
yes but that was cgi while the new video is actual in game graphics which look pretty impressive and we didn't know what it was called then.
Will Funcom actually deliver this time?

Oh - yes - of course... how silly of me.
Well, if that turns you on check this out!
His name is Mario... he's in 3D now! (note the in game footage!)
Seriously, this is old stuff Funcom have had sitting around fro a year and a half.
You think that when they did the CGI stuff they didn't have all the "new!" info they just released and the other modelling done?
Nothing says irony like spelling ideot wrong.
... mumbles a prayer: 'Please release this game when its completely finished' ...
Are prayers answered in the Secret World?
