Play WoW for a bit and I guarantee you will come back to RIFT. Is is so much better than WoW from all standpoints

I don't plan on playing either game again but this is really stretching it. WoW is clearly the better game in many areas, quest design, overall world design, amount of content, current PvP etc. There are things not to like about WoW and I'm sure there are people who would like Rift more than WoW if they hadn't tried either yet but it isn't going to be an overwhelming majority by any stretch.

Yeah but give Rift 5 years to expand with the funding that WoW had and it'd be no doubt that Rift would be better, IMO.. Not because Rift is the better game, but because WoW is starting to show its age and 5 years from now it'll be a tough cookie to graphically update and such to keep up with whats out there.. I think Blizz know's this and that's why they are getting titan and Diablo 3 up and coming (albiet slowly.)

Now, if only Diablo 3 would be comeing out this year i'd be a happy man!

My last serious game was WoW.

I had played it from the beginning and went to cap and raided and crafted to caps and then quit. Bounced from game to game and came back once TBC expansion hit. Stayed in thru WoTLK expansion and hit cap again and raided and crafted to max and quit.

I stumbled on some very bad MMO's since I quit and then Rift came along.

I found my time spent in rift was and still is spread across many things I am working on, from bettering my guild and leading non-expert runs to doing expert runs and crafting and rifting and working on PvP progressions. There is alot going on just like in WoW but with more freedom of character and better graphics.

In My opinion there is alot to attract a person that Likes WoW.   They will find so many similarities that they will instantly feel at home but yet,,,,in another place and time with a bit different rules.

    Long Live RIFT

I'm actually a WoW player and I was obsessed with Aion when I tried the China beta version.  When it released in China, I bought an account and played with these Chinese and dropped my WoW account.  It was sooooooo much better there.  When it came to the NA/EU, the westerization of the game killed it for me.  I still held on for a year after hoping they would change it and bring back the feeling I felt for it in china but they only made it worse.

I enjoyed the hell out of it mainly cause it DID differ from WoW.  When they tried to make it WoW, I actually grew a hatred towards the game.  They should have not tried to please so many and stuck to their original concept.   That's a problem with many games I think, they don't try to deliver for a group of gamers, they wanna try and please them all.  Just doesn't work that way.  In Aion's sake, they ended up crapping on both their original fan base and the didn't satisfy the new player base they were attempting for.

However, Rift hasn't really brought a whole lot new to the table.  It's server technology is really nice but it's like something that most people don't notice when playing.  That's the most innovative part of Rift.  The rifts themselves isn't really nothing new that WoW didn't already do with the invasions during the opening of AQ40, they just took it a little further with them taking over hubs in Rift which may make it hard on newcomers to the game with no people in the zone to help clear them out.

I don't know..  I think it needed to be more thought out than it was.  I've said it before in other posts, the game even though had a sense of polish, still felt rushed in many other areas of the game.
