Its funny you say that because as a long time EVE player I have had people often ask and say there is no point to EVE. FE is quite different in atmosphere for me which is probably part of the appeal, but most of all so far its been alot of fun. I wouldnt ever ask what the point of a MMO is.. just try it and see if you like it. If you like it, then you have found the point of the game: To entertain you.

Just completed my trial and have to say its a great game. I will be subscribing, its like SWG skin (game mechanics) with a Fallout genre.
To dispel some roomers
1- There are only 5 creatures or so in the game; False. lv 1-10 I saw; Giant; scorpions,giant jumping spiders, giant ants 3 varieties, and my personal favorite GIANT STINK BEETLES!!!!! ( you cant get any more real than a giant stink beetle. if you don’t know what im talking about go out doors, its the black beetle that stick its butt at you when ever you get near it), giant snakes, giant lizards, mutated chickens lizard walking head things, giant rabbits (with scared farmers, to funny) wolves, coyotes, dogs, giant mutated wolf rat thing with scabies, Insane Mutant humans, Sand worms, let alone the different types of raider groups and there weird ideologies.
2- "there needs to be difent scenery other than desert" .......... it takes place in the Grand Canyon
3- "There isn’t any one playing"- If this line is followed by unlike, or, should be, im going to "X" (X = game) then writer we will call variable "D", and the statement is "Y" then according to Murphy’s law the writer is......that’s correct!! the answer is "F" for full of $ game promoter. There are plenty of people online, their helpful, they will answer the most mundane noob question ever asked and happily. I’ve seen the Mods on more than any other game ive ever played since The Realm.
4- "This game is a WOW rip off"...... where to begin.......... nope. Its not even the same genre, let alone the same game mechanics, or even the same game engine. I have 8 lv 80s, 2 w full epic pvp gear, with almost every dragon mount out there. I can unequivocally say this game is nothing like WoW. P.S. wow and every fantasy game ever made and there entire concept was a rip off, of a much older dice and paper game turned novel first and was turned video game first. One last thought... where do you think they get all there ideas from? I can safely bet you that every artist/writer either plays it or has played and uses the monster manual for their "original" creative "genius".
5- zombies/mutants have no place in post apocoliptia............... for ever one movie you can name that magic was used to raise the dead, i can name 10 that an NBC was used, aka nuclear, biological, and chemical. for every one comic i can name 10 and so on and so forth. i mean what is post apocoliptia with out some zombies trying to eat your brains ............Its just going to be a bunch of humans, sitting in the desert, snaking on some brains. One last thought don’t play any Super Hero game either *SPOILER ALAERT!!!!* there are mutants and zombies there too.
6- "The whole world is just a flat desert with no land marks." ummm.... ya that’s why they call it a desert. but at the same time wrong on so many levels. there are plenty of land marks, changes in elevations, mountains, hills, gullies, rock formations, power lines, towns, farms, houses, crashed plains ect. Its just like the real thing just as if . . .i don’t know . . . .you went to the Grand Canyon, witch btw is native american for big freaking hole in the desert.
7- "The Game world is small" - While ive only tried the trail version. I can say its the largest starting area ive ever played in and toatly unrestrictive. They even give you a horse at like lv 2 but upgrade either skill or $ as soon as you can, the next one is worth it.
8- "I couldn’t figure out the game mechanics" (skill system, trade skill systems, attribute system) - It really isn’t that hard. If you’ve played any game where you place points into attributes and skills in order to progress your self through the game..... then you know how to play. If your trying to be the annoying guy that made Leeroy Jenkins go insane.... then maybe you need to read up further. but then again the game isn’t about skill to you its about perfection and making the ultimate guy. so you can fulfill your ego trip in killing more virtual stuff. Until real gamers and our nerfed guy come along & pwn u. /cry
8b- Trade skill system they couldnt figure it out- you gather stuff, then you make it. the end. Whats great is, it Q's the next thing you want to make, so long as the mats are in your pack. So b4 you log grab a bunch of mats from the vault and lv your skill while your away. (i think the cap is 15 Q's)
9- To few ap's /you have to do every quest bla bla bla - by lv 10 i hade 192. plenty of APs not sure if their really is a cap but it cant be 90 or 180 or 300 mathematically speaking by the time you hit the lv cap you would have maxed out ap's by lv 20. So im sure just logicaly speaking no game designer would build that into the system and if they did, you definitely wouldnt have to do ever quest. so either way its a win win.
In the end i played this game becuase i love post apocoliptia genre. They did a great job with it and ultimately it was the nay Sayers that made me play it, just so i can see if it was as bad as they said it was. it wasn’t even in the ball park of bad games. Ill have to write another article just on that, as ive tried over half the games on MMORPG.
So far only heard from Guroo ingame so far... and he barely even seems to play unless he's on an alt and not wanting me to know.
As for the other guy I gave the game to, not even thank you or nothing, I gave you my characters name and figured you would at least message me ingame and say hello.
Guess I wasted those two copies of the game, lesson learned.

So I would imagine it might also be the feeling ot quite a few others that unsubbed. The basis for a decent game is here but the entire combat system and character progression piece needs a revamp.

Actually I have been finding the quests entertaining more so then other games. Great storylines, etc.. I am thinking that some people just arent into the atmosphere and storyline as much as others being it doesnt follow your traditional fantasyland setting. The game is far from boring. The only true problem I have seen with the game, which has been mentioned many times by others, is its too soloable which means people group less. Like usual though people exaggerate and its nowhere near a "solo" game like some make it out to be.
The truth is its a great MMO, way underated, and has its own set of issues like any other mmo out there. That being said, I highly recommend it for those who are tired of wow clones.

Haha sorry dude I'm extremely busy at the moment. I'm in the middle of moving houses. I have to work 40 hours a week and I have rehearsals for West Side Story, a production I'm in at my local theatre. I've definitely been planning to get in contact with you but have been really busy. I started a character and played for a little bit. Next time I'm on i'll send you a mail in game. Sorry if it feels like a waste. I'm actually planning to spend a bit of time on this game. Just caught me in the middle of a really busy time. Please forgive me for not informing you earlier. Hopefully we can have some fun soon .

As long as you stay away from certain clans this game can be fun. So if you're into PvE and RP it's nice. Otherwise search something else.
