That was amazingly cool

River of Souls event completed and it was worth the super annoying 3 hour wait before it finally started. Although, the massive pvp war that would have ensued at the end had we NOT been transported into the instance probably would have been even more interesting than the new raid!

Trion is definitely onto something here.

I was pleasantly surprised when I went from Apprentice to full 5 star Elite in under 2 months. I was pleasantly surprised again when I went from Elite to just barely Hardcore in 2 weeks. Apprentice, here I come!

I am generally pretty positive about Rift but the event was very poorly done.  With all the hype and wait it was very underwhleming.  Phase 2 was not only  laggy and people were dcing but it was pretty biring.  Run to each zone kill a few invaders and that was it.  On my server it lasted 30 minutes and it was done.  Phase 3 was nothing except RoS openning.

Overall the event was a big dud.  But I am sure they will improve on these events as they go.  They did a grteat job taking feedback in Alpha and beta and have improved the game by an amazing amount.  I am guessing the feedback here will be overwhelmingly bad and they will make changes to make the next event much more exciting and fun.

    Seems underwhelming to me too.

So you have to be Greenscale geared to go into the River of Souls? Reason I ask is because the folks running it are looking for 200 hit/focus.

Whats the point of having a world wide server event, quest and all, only to culminate in a gear gated raid? I most certainly understand gear gated progression, but not for some big world event advertised to get everyone involved ( I figured joining River of Souls would be like any 50 joining up for you know...RIFTS). Couple that with the fact that the event to open the raid only lasted a few hour window so folks that had to work or were otherwise preoccupied were screwed out of joining in on it. Seems poorly handles imo.

No you do not need gear from Greenscale to go into RoS.  It is the same tier of difficulty as GS it just drops different glyph slots from GS.  But it would not help to have GS gear. The enxt tier raid dungeon is HK which sounds really cool.  Somewhere around 15 bosses in HK with seperate wings and a big jump in difficulty.

Yeah, also on Spitescar.  Server is down again and locked out.

Oh, and population imbalance on Spitescar is rediculous.  So many Guardians.

Wow. We had a few people dc on my server but it was definitely not the norm. I thought the event was a lot of fun and thought the ending where (surprise!) you're in a new raid was pretty cool. I'm guessing there were a minimum of 500 people there at the end and the server stability on Harrow was shockingly good. We had rift chasing, boss killing, and world pvp skermishes for the better part of 2 hours, even if the event itself was only about 30 minutes. I'm really not sure how it was in any way underwhelming, but different strokes I guess.

Tons of QQ on the forums about this event.. Mainly with the long ques.. Luckily i got in without one the second the servers were brought back up before the event.. I killed a few huge mobs in scarwood and competed against tons of defiants.. Was super fun tanking the event mob + several defiants all while barley losing health cuz of how many bards were on me.. It sucked though because i went into scarlet gorge for 1min and i got stuck with a lvl 23 weapon cache instead of lv 32 like i should've got.. For some reason the caches don't scope to you're lvl, something Trion must've overlooked but it was their first event after all..

I couldnt make it to phase 3 because im only lv 36 and kept dieing to mobs in stillmoor, but i heard it was just a huge lag fest of pvpness lol.. I did get a chance to go into the instance, but got facerolled by the higher lvl mobs.. All and all i thought it was ok but phase 2 shoudl've lasted much longer and phase 3 should've been more then just a cinematic.. and the servers should've been sorted out so you didn't have 15+ hour ques.
