ya theyve done a lot of work to get the game to be keyboard/mouse friendly. Im still torn as to what way is the best way to play the game since they both work so well, but since they designed the gamepad controls to be as good as a keyboard/mouse I usually use my 360 controller.
I just started this week and having played in the alpha/beta as well I have to say the keyboard/mouse controls are greatly improved. HOWEVER I find the gameplay SO much better and more enjoyable using my PS3 controller (or X360 whatever you have)
I highly encourage anyone playing this game to download the necessary drivers and play with a PS3 controller.
The improved control of the camera, as well as you character, make the game far more user friendly. Whereas with a computer you expect immediate responses due to the quickness of a mouse. Using a controller the menus and UI feel very natural, since all console games work the same way.
Instead of fighting with the UI thinking it is slow, and not liking the mouse-camera movement or even just character movement, just use the controller. It flows so much more nicely and actually improves enjoyment of the game immensely (and let's face it, finding enjoyment in this game is a hassle).

I wish I could use right+left mouse buttons to move. Using the w key is awkward.
