My RL friends(who all love WoW despite me thinking WoW is 1 of the worst MMORPG ever) think Auto-Assault will be a failure, and the few customers they will attract are the worst part of WoW community.
Of course I dont share their point of view, but I would like to hear your arguments or answers on this, since it is not just random fanboi bitching, althought they are crude and rude, they speak their mind(and they are looking forward to others games like Guild War).
So, mostly, about the ''community'', do you think AA will appeal to nice folks or just happy destroyers of the worst type?

p.s.opinions are like assholes everybody's got one
and aa will appeal to everybody
I'm not Pann - just commenting on your concern from a gamer's standpoint. Regarding MMOG/MMORPG communities, I have always come to draw the same truths:
There are some very fun, friendly and helpful players.
There are some very bad, immature and rude players.
Yeah, just like real life, players cover a whole range of personalities. I've met some from most all of the groups. From the people i've met on various boards, AA has already attracted a lot of nice people, as well as some from the... other end of the spectrum. not a bad thing, just depends on your point of view. I just take heart in the fact that there tend to be more good, honest players than others.
Auto Assault has been getting loads of attention, starting at E3 last year and still going strong all these months later with various awards and distinctions (http://www.autoassault.com/press/.) Knowing that, I just can't get worked up and upset by a few people saying mean things about it and I won't waste time debating it.
What makes a game appealing to one person and not another is simply a matter of taste - like hating brussels sprouts or loving chocolate ice cream. The best marketing in the world will have very little impact on any project's success (not just games) on turning someone around who just flat-out doesn't like something. (I hate Pepsi and 1,000 Pepsi Challenges won't get me to drink it.)
As far as the sort of players it will attract or the community that will form around it, I will agree with what others have already said so well in this thread. You have your good folks and your pains in the butt no matter what game it is.
