Excellent Post Anon04- I'd like to confirm what you said and add my two cents.

In the real world, we buy money and sell time.  Read that sentence again, think about it, then read on.

Your time in this game, if you're like me, is not unlimited.  We have work, school, family responsibilities.  So those in the game who take the time to develop crafting skills, are willing to camp NMs against incredible odds, or farm the crap out of items in difficult zones deserve the in-game compensation for that "work".  Notice I did say in-game, let's not get into the problem of gilsellers and buyers just yet.  So if the cost for that HQ sword is 2mil instead of 20k for the req. quality sword, realize it's because that one individual has put countless resourses of time and their own gil to raise THEIR abilities to produce that item.

The "Kingdom versus Kingdom" concept, while having a few intriguing points, is borderline communistic, I must say.  You want the lower levels to get drug along by those who are better than them in the game due to their work.  How did the high level crafters and upper level adventurers get there? on their own, or with their LS helping time to time, my guess.  But the fact is THEY did it, and didn't get spoon fed the entire way.

The ONE, and now that I think about it the only one, interesting idea in this thread is partying with nation members to take control of a region.  This seems to be quite effective to me, and could lead to interesting results.  You know what I'd like to see in the game?  More creative leveling spots.  I'm tired of not being able to chain*5 because 6 other parties are camping within sight of yours when there are tons of zones in the game, and at least a couple for every level grouping.  Example- I took my RDM from 32-36 in Altepa Desert (east and west, depending on level) and saw a total of 2 other parties in both zones during those times.  Why? because there were up to 8 parties in Garliage Citadel all fighting over the same pulls!!!!!  Drives me nuts.  And you know what?  Leveling in obscure areas will also lead to conquest of different areas for your country, rather than all the countries fighting for Valkrum, Qufim, Elshimo, Garliage, etc. (sorry, the only experience I have so far)  Go level your lv 24 party in Batallia Downs on Tigers.  Take your lv32 party and get beetles in West Altepa.  Hell, try whatever you want- make it work, and be proud that you and your party were original and didn't have to compete for pulls or have dumb parties kill you with links.
