Lets face it, the pvp in this game just sucks now. Warfront grind gets boring after the first 300 times of doing it. there really is no point to open world pvp at all. i love ganking in other games. somehow in this game, ganking is just... boring. No thrill in doing it, or if it gets done to you, its just boring. Do you guys think its time for some RvR? The only problem is doing it in a way that won't just end up being massive zergfests or that wont piss off people questing. Maybe something similar to codex where you can gain as much points if you control all the minor capture points than if you control all the main capture point.
Most memorable games: AoC(Tryanny PvP), RIFT, GW, GW2, Ragnarok Online, Aion, FFXI, FFXIV, Secret World, League of Legends (Silver II rank)

You could always take the route that Mythic did in DAoC. Open world keep seige that involved holding items of power within them. If the enemy held yours or enough of yours as well, they would have exclusive access to certain PvE and PvP content. Perhaps a very large public dungeon similar to Darkness Falls in DAoC. What made it really fun is that when the enemy took control back from you, they would also have to take the dungeon back from you. This made for some really fun PvP for control of the content.
Perhaps Trion could enable friendly NPC's to finally attack members of the opposing faction. I thought they were enemies after all. Add the ability to take over NPC hubs for a limited time. Yes, it's a griefing mechanic. However, it would actually add a bit of hatred towards to opposing faction rather than killing people because they are red and you can. You can incorporate this into guild quests and you can then gain significant individual rewards from OPvP quest givers.
This also allows Trion to expand their Rift system. Adding even stronger footholds, perhaps calling them Planar Strongholds. Allowing planes to take over static structures within the game just like guilds and factions would be able to. It adds a dynamic to the seige mechanics in that players could attack WITH invasions for that extra UMPH to turn the tide. And you know what gets me? Trion talked up their planar rifts sending invasions attacking each other. Well, I've yet to see that and I've very annoyed by it. There isn't enough variation of invasions and rifts in the same area. Why can't two planes invade at the same time? Did they get together at the Nexus tea party and make rules of engagement? I thought they were fighting each other for control too.
All of this is probably going to have to wait for a big expansion though. As siege warfare mechanics wouldn't be an overnight thing to develope.
I've heard in forums, there are plans to make quests to raid opposing faction capital cities, towns, and outposts. With the Capital city raids giving some of the best rewards. I hope this is true.
I think the War Fronts are very well made.. White Steppes + The Codex are my favorite and in my experiece better then the ones i've played on WoW.. With that said, the world pvp is so-so.. It's fun, but there's no point really.. I killed like 5 players on my way to a quest today and i don't think i got anything out of it..
Do you even get favor for world pvp kills? It'd be nice if they had a thing in you're menu that maybe kept track of how many all time world pvp kills you've gotten.. Atleast then you could brag about it and give even more of a reason to world pvp.
