After an abortive attempt at playing RIFT, and a wind down in the amount of time I need to study, I resubbed to the biggest game in the world, WoW.
I came up with a system which allows me to enjoy WoW again. And it works! I think it could apply to other games.
Here is an overview...
Requirements
1. Heirlooms, clothy and leather
2. Toons with these profs...at least 300 enchant, 150 leatherworking and 150 jewelcrafting.
3. An unquechable thirst for Horde blood!
Process
1. Roll a night elf Druid. The starting zone for Worgens makes that race choice unacceptable for this system. Head to SW.
2. Mail Heirlooms, bags, money etc. to new toon and start killing skinable critters.
3. Level to 10 asap...takes about an hour (Moonbeam 6 wolves while you have Thorns and Rejuvinate running, skin repeat...then do quests around Goldshire.)
4. Make all the leather armor, jewelry and chants needed to play WSG from 10 -19 and mail to toon.
5. With the right gear and chants you should have almost 700 health and massive attack power and a 20%+ crit!
6. On my server, queue times for 10-19 wsg is about 2 minutes.
7. Pwn!
8. At level 20, reroll!
Results
1. No grind
2. No gearing
3. Few quests
4. No raids
5. No emblems
6. No rep
8. Pure PvP fun with short queues!
9. Happiness without the endless grind!

Only problem with this is that you will eventually get burnt out doing that as well if that's all you do while you play. It would turn into a grind just the same as end game gear grind. Only way to not get bored playing a game is by always doing something different when you login. Even then though you will one day burn out on the content and all the game has to offer. Doing that just helps it last longer.
I have had the means to do this since 2007.
I never play my 85, unless to support this system.
all the mats for armor and jewelry are supplied by the leveling toon
the only grind is the 15 minutes my 85 takes to clear Hellfire ramparts for 6 stacks of Runecloth to make the Illusion Dust for some of the chants. But this yields about 100g in loot as well.
i would consider the mat grind prohibitive IF you went 150 Engineering
I thought about that too. made a disc priest for a change of pace. I got heirlooms for a hunter as well, but I don't like the mandatory hunter quests.
I know a much shorter way for PvP fun - INSTALL QUAKE III (or whatever other FPS game out there). Even shorter than your way, and you're sure everyone has good gear. Not to mention ZERO queues to the BGs...
I like WoW and my friends are there.
Whatever.
Glad you found a way to enjoy an MMO again, the goal of everyone I think.

to hardcore for me.
Eventually one burnt out on any game. This is as good a way to extend the life of wow as any. No one argues this will extend the interests forever.
There's no need for step 8 actually, you can pay to lock your experience.
I think its 10g, in Stormwind castle.
A npc that looks like a rogue lvl 19 twink stealthed.
Won't do. By WoW's BG matching system OP will have to fight same twinks as he is. This obviously isn't his intention...

also only one battle group has serious 19 twinks otherwise the Q times are insane. and if i were going to do that kind of twinking i would do level 60.
making a real 19 twink is just as much work as making an 85.
as for me wanting to faceroll noobz...that happens, but I am really after those troll hunters that crit for 500 at level 13. owning them is not easy.
I don't understand why you would go out of your way and spend so much time and effort just so you could compete on an uneven playing field against MOSTLY newer players who are inexperienced and easy to kill.
I am saddened you would encourage others to do such a thing.
as for your quote
"as for me wanting to faceroll noobz...that happens, but I am really after those troll hunters that crit for 500 at level 13. owning them is not easy."
Since they split the twinks and the non twinks via the experience stopping quest that makes it so you are in a seperate bracket, how often do you REALLY see other people doing what you are doing? I really doubt it happens much at all. You are only preying on the weak.
It takes you an hour to get from 1 to 10?? Slow as ****. :P
19's 39's and 70's all have good que times. Make a few twinks and never grind again. Plus the games are more competetive. Only reason to do what your doing is your bad at the game.
Why not just play an online shooter? You get better gameplay without all the prep. Plus you can play for free.

So how is twinking a character so you can easily defeat any opponent without challenge in PvP fun exactly? OP has the same mentality of every hacker I ever met, the fun is in winning and not the challenge of competing. I suppose WoW is a poor game to argue against gear being the primary and only real factor for winning or losing though.
Why reroll?
