WoW or GW?

in Guild Wars

     Currently I have a lvl 45 Warrior in WoW and it just seems as if the game is becoming repetitive...(grinding quests and instances)... and seeing how lvl is EVERYTHING in WoW and almost means nothing in GW witch one of these games do you guys thing is the better buy?

    You know whats becoming repetitive? Having these lameass "WoW v GWs" threads pop up in the guildwars forum.

    Could everyone please stop them or at least move them to the WoW forum.

    Well what ever then, I think i will pick this game up seeing how its free to play and all maybe it will be better than WoW maybe it wont......was just looking for some input not nagging.

    I've been playing WoW for a little while and, like you, I found out it was becomming repetitive quite fast. That's the reason I dump it in favor of EVE Online ::::03::. I eventualy dumped it for Guild Wars ::::35::.

    Damn, another WoW vs. GW thread..... First it was WoW vs. EQII, then WoW vs. SWG, then WoW vs. CoH. Next it's going to be WoW vs. GW Bush...WoW vs. my dog...WoW vs. my toilet...WoW vs.  cat litter box...WoW vs. all games...image

    As one person has already stated, your answers are going to be based where you post them. If you want a true blue or somewhat of a true blue answer, try posting in the off topic and see what the out come is, otherwise your going to get mostly one sided answers.

    I'm really fed up with this sort of polls/threads, too and I find starting a poll in here like WoW versus Guildwars absolutely pointless.

    why must games be compared.......i for one like both WoW and Guild Wars......i do happen to play Guild Wars more, but that's because it's the best PvP there is, and i like to test my skills against other people.......but WoW does some things better than GW

    i don't know ifyou people have seen my posts on either forum but that's what i've been trying to say.. the words aren't coming out right i guess.. ::::21::

    i am very interested in GW myself. but i was trying to compare them without making one better.. sure wow is more interactive in mmo and GW is more interactive in pvp... that goes without saying.. i was trying to make clear..but it didn't work

    why must everything be compared..
    boys compare girls' bodies..
    people compare games..
    mothers compare children..
    people compare friends..

    I just is getting unreasonable if you ask me...

    i'm just saying that comparing two different people, games, whatever.. is not cool.
    I am really annoyed with people saying that GW>WoW or WoW<GW... and when others say it's "bull crap" and when people argue at nothing... and when people compare totally different games...
    you are always gunna have these people. but you can't compare two different games.. it just doesn't work and you make people angry..

    oh whatever.. i'm not making sense anymore..

    Im not saying GW is better and I'm not saying WoW is better, it's all about your own personal taste. Each game has there own advantages depending on what type of gamer you are. I played GW for 2 weeks and beat the game and it's still fun but not as fun as in the beginning. I used to be hyped about the game non stop spamming WoW when I got the chance, all because I haden't tried it and didn't want to change my opinion. There is one thing though that makes any game fun. Friends. Friends can sometimes mean the make or break of a game for an individual. If the game has a great community and tons of people to play with the game can be very fun. There's pretty much 1 reason I play GW and not WoW which is the monthly fee. If I had the money to blow on a game like WoW every month, i'd probably do it becase I know tons of people who play and have lots of fun. Thats my 2 cents.

    When WOW was worldwide released, it wasn't shipped to my country. The blackmarketeers here jacked up limited copies of the game to almost twice the cost. even when i could afford it, it was difficult to actually find a shop that has it. after a few weeks, my passion died down.

    then 2 weeks back, i was surfing the net and came across GW. i was pretty intrigued by it, but became wary of its so-called 'instanced' dungeons. being a veteran UO player years ago, nothing beats the unrestricted pvp, ambushing, looting etc of sosaria. however, i decided to buy the game coz i have not played an mmo for years due to studies and i had just graduated.

    first impressions: graphics are STUNNING. even for a lousy 3 year old CPU + GFX card, i could play on max detail & resolution with a decent framerate (other than when entering snowy places like shiverpeaks, snake dance etc) character & monster detail : ******. u won't get it till u see for yourself. i'd seen WOW's characters and its not really my cup of tea, although i used to think that it was cool cos i pretty much liked the warcraft plot.

    after 2 weeks, i have max levelled my first char and had beaten the game. but it doens't end there, beating the game just exposes u to the myriad of skills available and how to use them effectively. the pvp part has not begun for me, as i still seek a good guild. started on my second character to lvl9, but mostly concentrating on skill capping for my first character.

    the community is much better than other mmos because it is a game designed for teamwork. although u might encounter childish personalities in the game, u could always zone out or exit the quest zone and look for a team that u can actually work with. i've worked with a pick-up team that start ok, and then got more and more cohesive... we beat 3 high level missions in a row (about 1.5 hours per mission) and it was one of the most satisfying moments in the game.. esp when teammates are encouraging and cohesive.

    guild wars is pure magic..

    after dumping 300+ hours on WOW i got nice an boored, i mean the fact that LEVEL is evryhting and u have to play 24/7 just to keep up with the people that play it sucks. and once u get to 60 theres nothign to do because u cant mix classes and the pvp is one of the most un-balanced pvp in any MMORPG, ill keep my WOW subscription and try battlefilds but for now im playing guild wars.. :)

    WoW sux, GW rulez thats it. I hate wowophiles who think that wow is the best game ever. Ive been playing wow for a month and i understood that this is not an outstanding game. U cant see anything in wow that u havent seen in other mmorpgs. But GW is really an unusual game - it is multiplayer game but you participate in the plot like u do it in single games.

    Here's a realistic comparison.

    1 id free per month, 1 isn't.

    Beyond that they're both boring after month 2.

    If you wanna fight mostly you should play gw, but if you wanna grind like mad play wow.

    look wow is mostly for fans if your a fan buy the game (or buy gw) and gw is for everybody i myself played them both and i like more gw but its your choice man

    obviously most of the peeps who look at  this thread are guild fans. so the outcome would be guild wars chosen over WoW. my friend likes guild wars and i like Wow and im gonna kill him. in guild wars u cant carry ur weapons in towns. how are u supposed to show ur pimped out weapons like that, hehe. anyways guild wars is like gay and i dont like it because its over rated. guild wars does not have good choices in making ur character at the beginning. in WoW ye get ta chooooz lliiek orcs en' tauren and craap.  plus pvping pwns guild warz pvping.u have to go to another fricken thing to pvp in guild warz. in WoW its like Alliance vs. Horde which is pretty tight. a bunch of peeps killing other peeps.  die guild wars die!!!!!!!! i hope everyone with guildwars comp's crashes weee.. that means my friends comp. ..die                    im not gonna read any posts after mine because its like most guild wars fans will like bash at  me and crap but with words.... sticks and stones may brake my bones but words willl never hurt me.         "WoW is a feelin who needs a social life"...."this is the best game.. the best game iver ever played"

    After playing them both quite a bit, I finally unsubscribed from WoW to play Guild Wars full time.

    And for NO MONTHLY FEE!

    I honestly prefer GW 100%. WoW got really boring for me around level 24. I just couldnt play it anymore. So far GW is the best thing that has happened to PC games in a long time for me. All Hail GW!!! ::::08::::::08::

    good qouestion....on my side GW wins, becouse it is free(GW would probably be better game if it isnt free)and it doesnt need all day play to get a lvl, but WOW is also a great game, but it needs a lot of playing to keep up with others
