Hi, i just started playing Rift (EU), what i have noticed is one can choose whether to play on the EU or US servers, which is a good thing. Now i am wondering as i have gone Ranger-Marksman-(then was advised to go Riftstalker for the 3rd choice).
I am wondering if there are any builds that are posted on this configuration as i have heard that alot of sites are pretty darn unsafe, also, i have been playing since monday evening and its been pretty darn lonely, what few players i see dont stop or talk or even reply to your hails and i am starting to get pretty bored already. So if anyone can recommend a server or any tips then post up
thx

Hey, choose server depending what time you play.
Rift has server population listed on its website, so if you look the traffic at the time you usually play then you can find the server for you.
This list will help you with server population

Welcome to Rift. ^^
Piece of advise. You can buy more than 1 role, and as Rogue you are advised to have 2-3 of them.
I'd use Bard as 3rd choice. Riftstalker doesn't really fit into the ranged built of Ranger/Marksmen and Bard does give some small heals and buffs, which is more more useful than the Riftstalker for you as ranged fighter.
The 2nd role could be a melee - sneak based fighter. I have Assasin-Riftstalker-Nightblade, with emphasis on Assasin and Riftstalker. It makes navigating through densely populated areas much easier and faster.
As 3rd Role I have a full Bard, meaning all points went into Bard. I'd chose that later when I had tons of points, and its a REALLY cool built for grouping. Trust me, your group can take on enemies they otherwise never would survive just because they have a buff-Bard in the team. Works wonders! But it's nothing that helps when you solo or duo.
Be sure you know about Roles. Oh and PLEASE read about how invasions work: DEF THE STONES. If you don't know what that means, pls learn it. Drove me nuts in Rift how many people make the invasions fail. Kthxbye. ^^

Thx for the replies.
Question then, since i did choose my rolls (when doing the starter quests), of Ranger-Marksman-Riftstalker, is there a way i can drop Riftstalker and replace it with the bard or do i have to wipe and start over (or just make a 2nd roll once i get 30 gold and make that combination?
I did look on the forums but there is not much info there for info tree's, apart from make your own and change it if it sucks, a few posts saying marksman tree sucks as its weak, but i have always played a ranged class hunter/ranger (as with tank/melee class's) you need to jump turn twist step jump in about a second all over the place but staying in range of your target, my eyes cannot follow and neither can my fingers go as fast for that sort of play (so is why i always go ranged).
When you reach level 13 and get to Meridian or Sanctum, you can accept quests to obtain other souls. It's a pretty simple procedure and it's the same for all of the soul types. However, if you spent soul points in the soul that you want to drop... you have to purchase a soul points reset at your class trainer. Otherwise, you can freely switch between souls that have zero points spent in them.. as long as you have completed the quest for it.
