PS3 VS. PC HELP ME OUT

I played FFXI on computer but have never played on PS3. I have several questions because im about to purchase 14.
On PC the game is updated, how does that work on PS3? Is PS3 able to get updates?
Which is better to use, PS3 or PC, and why?
Obviously, the graphics are gonna be better on PS3 unless you spend some money on a good video card, but....
Is there a risk with memory playing with PS3?
Which has smoother gameplay....or does it solely depend on internet connection?
I know a few of these questions are probably novice, but thats what i am....so please help me out.
Im worried that if i get the PS3 version that i wont get all the updates and new material or be able to add expansions as they are released
is that the case?
If you have played both or know whats up with thte PS3, please reply and let me know whats up....

The game isn't out on PS3 and won't be for a while (no release date yet).
i understand that....Im not asking for a release date for PS3. Im asking if someone who has played FFXI on both consoles can give me the plus/minuses so i can decide what system to purchase the game for
PC or PS3 ???t..until the game is fixed.. its unlikely to be released on the PS3.. indeed.. there is doubt now that the game will ever be released on the PS3.. so.. the question isnt PS3 vs PC.. its PC or nothing.
i don't think XI is compatible with the PS3.. so you will have to get the PS2 version.. if you have a PS2.. as far as i know there are no plans for it to ever be released for PS3.
so ive been wasting my time waiting? Game Stop has it posted that it will be released just not sure when......if it were to be released which system do you think would be better overall....would a PS3 version be able to receive updates and expansions or how would that work?
I read somewhere that there was a "way" to do it but if I remember correctly required you had the correct ps3 model(don't quote me on that) The 3 systems it was released majorly for was PS2-X360-PC. I played it on both 360- and Pc and I liked PC more. I felt it was easier to do everything but running around and I had to fight my wife for the tv to play on 360, but I prefer keyboard-mouse personally so I stuck with it more.
If you are lacking a decent gaming Rig. I think Ps3 would be a better choice. I run it fantastically with 4gigs ram, ATi Radeon HD 5570 and a AMd quad core 3.2Ghz(and the benchmark gave me horrid results)

Final Fantasy 14 is only supposed to be released for Ps3 and PC. It may be a typo on Gamestops part.
If it was like XI both versions of the game will play on the same server and will both be subject to the same updates ets..Granted if you are playing on a gaming console you are subject to loss of service due to maintenance or outage(PSN netork)

Well if and when it comes out on PS3 and is P2P you might want to go PC , that is unless you want your CC info taken form the hacked PS3 site.
But really you can just buy a PS3 controler for the PC and works the same , only good i can see with the PS3 is you can play on your 55" tv

Your CC and personal info couldn't get hacked as playing FFXIV on PS3 the data is stored on SE servers and not Sony's. They would have to be able to breach SE's security or specifically attack your console/IP.
To answer the OP, the PS3 version will recieve updates in the same manner as its PC counterpart, including expansion data. (although expansion data will most likely come on a form of a disc due to size of data). Since the PS3 version isn't out yet and has an unknown release date, its still a bit early to be worried now.
Hope this clears up your questions though.
We don't know when it will come out on PS3....
