The latest in a series of articles called "The Engineering Report" from Star Trek Online Executive Producer Dan Stahl has arrived on the official site. The new letter goes into some detail about the forthcoming Update 4, The Foundry and the announcement that more free content will hopefully be released before Update 4.
In the last report I talked about the schedule and Feature Episodes and there was concerns that there wouldn't be any "new" content until after the Season 4 update. We have been discussing the feedback and working on a way to squeeze some more content in as soon as possible. At present we are looking at an update as early as May that would add in some new surprises prior to the release of Season 4. I'll keep you posted as we finalize our plans.
As the team tackles many of the features of the Season 4 update, we often find ourselves discussing additional ways to improve the game and many of those discussions are reflected below in the discussion section. while not every feature we are working on is listed below, we are continuously making small tweaks to the game that will be reflected in Season 4. You'll be able to get your hands on these changes in late May/early June when we open up our test shard to begin hammering on all these upcoming changes.

That makes me want to play this game more than ever.
I see mostly uniforms anyways. So who cares? It's not like they're selling, "Potion of instant kill other players" or "Ultimate Ship of Untouchable Doom and Destruction that Can Wipe Out Worlds With One Press of A Button".

F2P is the only way they are getting me back. Good to hear none the less.
I'm glad they are adding missions for you to complete X amount of Foundry missions. This makes playing Foundry missions a legitimate way to level and is a big boost for Klingon players.
All one need do is look at the Mission Architect from CoX to see where this is going.
Cryptic releases "Play 10 Foundry missions for XP" content
People create "Kill 1 level 1 NPC to complete" missions.
Easy XP farming.
A big boost to Klingon players would be for Cryptic to develop KDF faction specific content to flesh them out and make them unique.
Most of the C-store stuff is earnable ingame anyways. C-store isn't a big deal.
No, just a few of the ships , and that grind will want to make you run and get a rusty spoon.
I have talked to a lot of People. what you can get in other games. Costs you more real money Then what its worth playing. I have not played in a while so doing know do they charge for skill resets and other things.
If they are not offering a way to grind them then its stell not worth the time.
