Yeah i'll put together a bleeding edge PC right before this game releases.
Maybe WoD is just the excuse I need to buy one o them new GTX 480s... yea the wife will go for that...
But honey... I NEED a GTX 480! Oh and BTW... I'll also need a new PSU to power it... oh and that Quad core processor? Yea I need a new i7 otherwise the 480 will bottleneck... so I need a new motherboard too...oh and I'll need at least another 8 gigs of RAM...
Man... my wife can't even see my monitor and she's giving me "the look"... I think she can read my mind...
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level, then beat you with experience.
I'm guessing this game is nowhere near being released since you'll need a monster rig from the future to run it :P My guess is, releasedate 2013.
I've read in places that this MMO was slated for a 2010 release, but that seems very doubtful since CCP hasn't even launched a website for it.
As for the vid, something tells me this sort of rendering will not be implemented (at least not at that level) into the WoD MMO exactly as seen in this video because yes... framerates would tank, and not many nvidia cards even support Physx.
For those who thought that game would be "Twilight" like, the part with the dead girl with naked boobs into the blood bath isn't what I expect to see in the next twilight movie. Also, World of darkness is a gothic punk world, horror rated. then again, not very twilight
So the grand master of Pen and paper game (White-wolf) and CCP (a very respectable studio) merge together to create a mmo. They'll also use the already VERY popular story of World of Darkness and most of all, Vampire: The Masquarade. They'll also use the same technology than eve online's new expansion (very well looking texture). They got all the tools to create the next best mmo if you ask me,
The Tech demo you linked to is not new. This video has been rehashed in one way or another since 2008. Also it is not specifically a WOD demo but a Carbon Framework demo showcasing apex physics. This framework will be used in all CCP Games.
To the previous poster complaining about gfx cards: any card made after 2006 is physx capable. If for some reason you don't have a card that recent, CCP has stated that there is a fallback cpu physics mechanism as well as a secondary fallback that will utilize saved animations. So no one needs to go running to the store to buy a new card. (Though if your gfx card is that old by the time WoD comes out, you might as well get one anyway). This information is in the Fanfest 2011 CCP Presents.
The MMO was originally slated for a 2010 release, but since that plan the Carbon Framework / Ambulation Mechanism they were working on had to be restarted from scratch at least twice. Don't expect this game to come out before Summer 2012.
Lastly, CCP is keeping all the good information to itself until the Grand Masquerade which will be held mid September. So that would be the time to look for possible in-game footage.
White Wolf's World of Darkness been out for more than 20 years, older than some of you here.
The world is interesting and the lore is the most badass vampire/horror I've ever read. Just because it's a "Horror" genre doesn't make it a pussified Twilight-like game as much as a game being a Fantasy genre doesn't make it a pussified Harry Potter game or an Elf and Fairies games.
I trust CCP more than all the other themepark oriented publishers. I would bet they will create a world that's more brutal than all the EZ-Mode Linear crap we've played for the last 7 years and the reason why I say that is because they are CCP and watching the interview of their lead designer I only hear good thing. Compare it to Bioware who their CEO was talking about a "story element" which is an indiciation of a soft and shallow MMORPG. Also they bought the WW World of Darkness IP and I know the rules and lore of that old Role Playing game (paper and pencil RPG) so it's hard for it to suck specially backed up by CCP EVE experience.
Another great example of Moore's Law. Give people access to that much space (developers and users alike) and they'll find uses for it that you can never imagine. "640K ought to be enough for anybody" - Bill Gates 1981

To the poster who said this will be based on Requiem. It will be based on the Masquerade.
As far as a lack of information on the game is concerned, CCP is notorious for its media blackouts, but that doesn't mean there is no information about the game. One of the CCP Atlanta devs (WoD Studio) Justin Achilli has written several posts on his site about various mmo concepts and ideas. All of which are directly or indirectly connected to his work in the WoD MMO.
Lastly, CCP is keeping all the good information to itself until the Grand Masquerade which will be held mid September. So that would be the time to look for possible in-game footage.
