Lineage 2: Assessing the Health of the Community

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

NCSoft and Lineage II developers are asking players to complete the "Bi-Annual Player Census" to help the team assess the relative health of the community. The census is now available and will be accessible for the next two weeks.

This form is intended to give both staff and players a clear picture of what the player community is like currently. It will cover areas such as the user's play style, statistical standing among player averages, favorite things about the game, greatest concerns on the state of and the future of the game, and much more. The census will occur every 6 months and be open to accept input for two weeks. The census’ questions will be updated to reflect recent happenings and may evolve according to popular player response. Due to the high volume of responses this census generates, text-box answers are not an option. However, feedback regarding the census itself, and suggestions on new questions or edits to existing questions may be posted on the official Lineage II forums.

The survey's start page can be found on the Lineage II site.

yes because it's still one of the better games out there at its core (if you can ignore the cheaters which arent as bad as they used to be but unf still there in lesser amounts)

RIP Ribbitribbitt you are missed, kid.

I did actually like it but never really found a clan so to speak and being solo was like painting a target on my back for PKers so I never got past 25

Too bad actualy... Today early game is considered up until 78, because thats where the real game supposedly begins. Since the last 2342345 updates focused on

i loved it and got all the way to 50 something thanks to being in a great clan and having someone i knew in real life to play with regularly. but around that time my interest waned and the grind was getting to me. i still harbor favorable memories and oppinions of it, however. was looking forward to lineage 3 (now Tera)  but not so much anymore.

I've been doing the "welcome back" celebration thing and there are still many people who play. The game is down to two servers, one for Euro and one for NA but it seems healthy enough. Not quite like it was from launch through chronicle 3 but still a decent amount of people.

No it isn't. Ppl say L2 died with the update that followed interlude (don't know which one is it as I stopped following the game), I totally agree, tough it pains me to say that. L2 will always be number 1 for me, I harbor so many great memories & feelings back from C1,C2,C3 and some from C4, C5.  I basically grew up with this game, meet some really interesting ppl, with whom I'm in contact even today. If I think of that good old times today, I get tears in my eyes, that's how good the game USED to be. Well, not just the game, the community also.

I'd say bots did their part in destroying the flow of the game as well as the constant changes in gameplay with new updates which also affected the tempo of the game. I mean, look at the number of players L2 has today. The game is dying, and the devs keeps screwing it up even more.

I'm glad I was a part of the the game in the early years. Really glad. Ahh, I need a tissue.

Its damn true after interlude everything started to die . I was a member of the ITT Alliance on Teon that run the show on that Server (biggest euro server). Our alliance had around 250-350 ppl and almost no one of us plays anymore mostly new ppl and some die hards are around now.

What people say the game died? You and your buddys that quit? LOL

How can you say someting about a game that you dont even play? C5 was like 4 years ago and you talk as if you are playing the game today.  I have never seen a game where people quit then blame the game like they do Lineage 2. It just amazes me. Saying the game is dead is just crazy. It the game is dead then how come people are still playing? Every day I watch some Olympaid becuase its something I have grown to like watching and there are almost always over 1000 people competing in Olympiad. Thats not counting the people that  are out xping and doing other things. Does not sound like a dead game to me.
