Can I play this right now ??

I was thinking of paying for a month so I can do the free character transfer thing that just started. But now with all of this hacking stuff going on I was wondering if I can even play right now. I see that the website is down, so I'm not sure if the game is still up and running.

Last I heard all SOE games/sites/servers are down until further notice, could be a day, a week, a month, who knows.

But they are pretty much in the same boat as PSN, which they've announced it should be back up by the end of the week or end of May at the latest, so I wouldn't count on SOE being back in business much earilier than that.

The company shut down its online-gaming service Sunday night after a hacker infiltrated the network just weeks after the first breach. Sony said it expected online services to be fully restored by the end of May.

    Both.

I saw an article saying that it could be back up by the end of the week, or the end of May at the latest

    So some time in May!

With the game's fragile state as it is, this whole thing really has me concerned for the future of SWG, much more so than the regular cries of 'INSERT GAME NAME HERE...normally SWTOR at the moment' is going to cause SWG to shutdown!

Right in the middle of a double weekend and just after finally doing something about fixing the population issues... this all is not good news. I don't want it to be gone, far from it, but this has me very worried since we will lose a certain amount of subs just because of the breach and the fact that we will have at least a week to detox and move onto some other game, which you know is certainly happening.

    Color me worried.

Played: Asheron's Call(still the best fantasy MMO!), EQ1, EQ2, Vanguard, DAoC, Horizons, City of Heroes/Villians, WoW (crap), LOTORO, D&D Online, Eve, Anarchy Online, and still playing SWG daily.

if the game is offline the trial will not expire.. wait it's SOE.. eh.. if it does, you can always sign up again image

SWTOR. Face it, in the Scooby Doo Mystery Solving Van of coolness, this game is Velma. In this current MMO climate it has about as much chance for survival as a group of inquisitive teenagers in a 1980s slasher flick. -Tardcore May, 2011

I don't care if it comes back or not TBH. Personally, I hope it never comes back online.

I've been wanting to play SWG again for a while but could  not stand the thought of going back into a ghost town, my old roommate and I played SWG for years together and one of the servers that me and him were on (Bloodfin) is dead now, he was recently playing again and something about free transfers were going on , any suggestions on what servers are packed with people?

‎"The company said it will grant players 30 days of additional time on their subscriptions, along with one day for each day the system is down. It is also creating a "make good" plan for its multiplayer online games."

30 days + 1 day Per extra day down

How many days has it been down now? 9?

I think Starsider has the most people. I read somewhere that it's the only one that you can't freely transfer out of, which would probably back up the thought that Starsider is the most populated.
