Without the name of the quest giver, I can't help you much. But it very possible that the NPC thinks you are a cleric. NPCs will give any class their quest (they aren't very bright), so it's very possible your doing a quest that you can gain no real reward for (or you'll get a reward that you can't use).
On the other hand, as bloodaye, mentioned, Paladins are Hybrids, half cleric half warrior. So, it's possible that you can indeed use the reward and gain from it.
I cross check all my quests at Allakhazam's Magical Realm

My dog barks some. Mentally you picture my dog, but I have not told you the type of dog which I have. Perhaps you even picture Toto, from "The Wizard of Oz." But I warn you, my dog is always with me.

I decided to assume that what vintageone is saying, here, is that now that he has his mouse fixed, NOW he can buckle down and start playing, starting with his lvl 3 character.
Besides maybe he isn't enterested in playing 50 lvls in 4 days...it could be, and now this is just a thought, it could be, that he actually wants to play the game.

I wouldn't worry about a level 3 cleric quest. You should grind up to atleast 10 before you worry about quests. In fact, I never did any quests besides for keys/flags, epic, and Jboots.
EDIT: 800th post
there are two deliver quest from Qeynos into w karana (wk.) One you deliver to a pair of dueling npc near the zone from qeynos hills (QH,) the other you have to deliver to a npc hiding inside a hut farther out in wk and that at lvl 3 may be tough, lotsa kos lions out there and scare crows. WK is one of the bigger zones in old EQ.
You might want to hunt topside in BlackBurrow, a lowby dungeon in QH. There you learn to watch out for trains as players trying to run away from 10 to 30 monsters chasing them to zone. Notice there are two npc in qh that will kill you if they catch you attacking their animal friends (tree hugger druid/ranger type npc.)
You can make good spell money hunting all those rats running arounf Qeynos, some loot special tails that sell for about 1pp each.
Well, that's one way to play. I liked doing newbie quests of various sorts, purely for the fun of it, myself. I liked questing in general in EQ. I quested a lot for items and for faction, and I did a few just for giggles. I never did care for the grind, even at low levels when it goes so fast, but questing, exploring, and socializing do a lot to break up the monotony. Also, I had a general rule of not buying things for main characters, so I quested to have stuff. (I'm guilty of twinking the hell out of a few alts though...)
BUT... since we're talking to newbies here, I will have to agree with you this much: Questing is not a major source of exp in EQ as it is in other games (*whisper: WoW*), and you'd get better items from killing rats until level 5, selling their tails, and taking the profits to the bazaar. (Do Crushbone belts still give beaucoup xp when turned in to that dorf in Kaladim? That might be worth doing.) On the whole, if you're looking to make progress, you're better off checking out the hotspot list and grinding through.
Faction hardly matters at all, anymore, at least the last I played, but that's a bit much for a newbie to be worried about questing for anyway.
Grats on the 800+, btw.

fixed what?
Awesome
You know, you aren't going to get more stars by padding your post count with 2 word posts. It just doesn't work like that. They expect your posts to actually *say* something. Also, reading threads before you post to them will make you more popular. The answer to your question was in the first post (i.e. a previously posted mouse problem was fixed).
Just FYI.
