You can probably run it at a low resolution and low details, but it won't be pretty. Sorry!

It is hungry despite not being that pretty.  You need reasonable specs.

I can say that I ran the beta on a GTX 250, 3 gb ram, and an Intel Core2 Duo 3ghz

I wasn't happy with it at all. I stayed out of heavily active rifts. I found that honestly my performance while in small groups (3-4) wasn't any worse at high settings so I ran like that just because RIFT is so pretty.

Spec'ing properly is a gateway drug.

Im running a Quad Core AMD, 4GB Ram, ATI Radeon 4890 and can get 60FPS out of the city on High detail 1360*720 (HD TV). If I go into the city I drop to 20 FPS... I have tried in on XP and Vista 64Bit with about the same results. One thing I did notice is that either my video card or the game are very paticular on certain resolutions. If I hook up to a LCD 19inch monitor I can run at 1600*1200 Ultra and stay at 50 FPS in and out of town, when I switch to my LCD TV and dumb the resolution down to 1360*720 it actually runs slower... My advice would be to try it with what you have, you should be able to run on low settings and fool around with different resolutions.

OP - It's actually quite a beautiful game for those who have the PC to run it. That said,  you will be lucky to get a playable framerate on low settings.

Well if you are bored of WoW chances are you will be bored of this, haha but thats just my opinion.

But to answer your question a decent quad core and a most 200 dollar vid cards will run this game on high setting just fine

you might need to turn the graphics down.

But it really offers nothing new or interesting, if you are playing wow (which I haven't in years) maybe 2 months off?

I think you would be fine.  I currently run an intel 2.5 dual core, 4 gb of ddr and a radeon 5670.  I can run it on high and average around 48 fps unless I go into the city in which case I get around 20 fps.  All my settings are standard on high except I turned off the shadows for the heck of it.

If you meet the minimum requirements you can run this game on pretty decent graphics.  Anyone that tells you otherwise is lying bigtime.  Trion did a really really good job when it comes to how the game plays and the graphics.  My old laptop barely beats the minimum requirements (512mb more ram) and this game is the best game I've ever seen played on it.  On my desktop, I can run the game with everything on maximum and the world looks "OMG awesome" (best graphics except crysis, and Age of Conan, but close 3rd with AoC).  The best thing is I run into Meridian, or the final boss in an invasion, where there's 50+ people and I don't get any frame lag, it drops maybe 5 fps.  In AoC, I get in a guild pvp battle and my fps drops by about 30 fps (normally 75, limited by computer).
