Star Trek Online producer Daniel Stahl has posted the latest "Ask Cryptic" and it's a massive and wandering list of questions/answers. The discussion meanders from the Qo'noS neighborhood system to revamping the Borg to improvements in the Foundry item placement system.
Q: TOSLover While I absolutely love the Foundry and am very amazed at all we can do with it, might there be an easier way that we could place our items, objects, ships, etc.? Maybe like an actual 3-D representation similar to how "The Sims" does it? I guess the question I'm asking is a change to Foundry object placement somewhere on the horizon?
A: Your suggestion is right on the money and I wish the team had the time to implement this immediately. Unfortunately it is going to take us quite a bit of time to get there. The first step might come later this year when we start to talk about a revamp to ship interiors and player starbases that would allow you to place objects as props.

I'm anxiously awaiting the season 4 crew updates. I wish they'd stop alluding to a Romulan faction, they are way to far removed from being able to do that adequately and it confuses people who think it could come soon.
I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil
Isn't this the same post from three days earlier ? Ask Cryptic for May ?

You folks need to try to confer with each other a bit more and worry less about advertising for Cryptic. Changing the name of a post isn't going to increase interest in the game , it just makes you look disorganized.
Isnt this the same thing they said about ship interiors 10 months ago? "We wanted to get it in there so we had a basic framework to build on in the future and now that it is in the game we will be improving it and adding things" My understanding is there are still only two shelfs that can be interacted with and it has been 10 months.
I dont understand how a developer can keep making statements and alluding to things that they simply do not have the resources for. These guys cant keep making episodes, build a romulan faction, improve the interiors, add functionality to the foundry, add content for the klingons, fix pvp, and all the other stuff that they keep spouting off about over the course of the next 12 months given the small development team that they have.
It's called "Carrot on a stick" my friend.
let me know when the game is F2P
Why? Would you start p(l)aying it then? Pay for changing outfit, just a little sum to change an officer ... just a little ... only a few diamonds or eggs or whatever cute currency ftp games use
