However, things can change in the world of game development. I just talked to Eric to double check. He confirmed to me that your characters will be able to walk in Guild Wars 2.

Good. Would have been really silly not to have it in. Being able to walk casually is kind of a basic rp requirement.

OMG I'm so hyped about this feature!

A salute emote would go hand in hand with this :P

Nice I guess. I didn't expect they would include it (based on what they said earlier) and wouldn't have cared much if they hadn't.

Now only if we can get Tag implemented into a game, we will be set.

YES, thank god for the "no one will be using it" option.

Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

This is great news especially for the RP fans. Being able to walk really helps add to the overall RP experience.

This thread confirms we're in "Overhyperdrive" on GW2. Must go to the GW2 10,000 thread now.

Walking is THE MOST innovative feature in this game I SWARARAA! If there wasn't any walking, this game would fall apart.

    This is not a game.

Yes but can the Charr drag their arses on the ground, (while moving forward on their arms), like they have a bad case of worms?  If not then this game fails an an RP experience, at the end of the day, IMO, quite frankly....

    Aw, this was foreseeable.

GW2 has no mounts *edited*, but the deva had to find a way if people wanted to move to a destination. So after many years of development the devs introduced Walking.
I mean look at WoW: it does have mounts, people can´t walk there. they either sit on their flying mounts or stand still in town waiting for an instance/BG to open.

I should stop visiting forums when I am bored, sorry.

Well underwater gameplay is going to feature heavily, including underwater combat so I should bloody well hope my character can swim!

    Always read the small print.

I know the sarcasm was high in your post but just in case anyone thinks otherwise : There will be a lot of underwater content but swimming has not been implemented, instead everyone will just sink like a brick and walk across the sea bed (no running remember water is thicker than air!).

Glad I could clear that up for you :)

    But yes woohoo for walking!

Argh sorry, you´re right, I remember watching the video with the swamp beast. I confused this with another game.

I am going to walk the crap out of this game.

    Playing: PO, EVE
    Waiting for: WoD
Favourite MMOs: VG, EVE, FE and DDO
Any person who expresses rage and loathing for an MMO is preposterous. He or she is like a person who has put on full armor and attacked a hot fudge sundae.

Can humans scratch themselves as though they're lousy with dirt, and clutch their face in pain to express their lack of dental hygiene? If not, then at the end of the day this game simply fails to provide a proper roleplaying experience, quite frankly...

    :P

This is fantastic news. For me it is, at least. It'll be nice to be able to take a leisurely stroll around our respective home cities, especially considering how beautiful they all are. Instead of having to jog past things hyperkinetically.
