The Guild Wars 2 dev team has released a new video showing off the sights and sounds of the free city of Lion's Arch. Check it out and immerse yourself in the city of Lion's Arch.
For generations, the people of Lion’s Arch have been on the front line of the war with Zhaitan, the dragon of Orr. Their city was destroyed, only to be rebuilt in defiance of the dragon’s power. The elite Lionguard have built a fortress on Claw Island, a small body of land in the harbor, in order to defend against Zhaitan’s attacks. No ship sails from their docks without a wary eye south toward the dark waters of the undead. They live each day with the knowledge that they are a bastion against the destruction that the Dragon would bring – regardless of whether or not the other nations of the world recognize, or care about, their ongoing struggle.

Alot of nice in this video.

Very nice and detailed. Also the sounds are great. When the armored woman walks past it sounds like you can hear clinky noises of armor joints moving.
And I SWAER I can hear seals when the shot pans past the quai at 0.50.
*oink, oink, oink*
Would be cool if they will have seals in the harbor.

Those aren't seals, they're sea-ponies, doh!

I guess they are still working on implementing that in / around the city.

you didn't see the fountain and river flowing through the city?
Does indeed look very impressive - Just hope I can recognisesome of it from GW1 ;p..
And if not, then it doesnt bother me to much, but that city looks amazing O.O
So odd to see Charr hanging out in Lions Arch.
So odd to see humans hanging out in Ascalon. Couldn't resist
I can't wait to visit Lion's Arch!
So true!

Fantastic video, colour me impressed
Can't wait to explore all those nooks and crannies, LA is going to be an awesome place to hang out.
It's getting to the stage now that I'm getting scared about the lack of life I'm going to have when this hits the shelves and there are far too many decisions to make!
yup you're right but it's more of an "Arp-arp-arp!" noise ; ) I likethe multitiered levels the most, the actual city seemed ok, but the sounds and music very good.

Yeah but I was hoping on a glimpse of a vast body of water, seeing how it is an important harbor town and all. Those were just specks of blueish stuff. The little stream and the fountain were nice though.

edit: nice one mrcalhou. I tried doing the subscript thingy but it didn't work for me V_V

I'm more inpressed by how large & populated it looks. Just imagine how bustling these cities will be when players are able to populate them.
Very very nice. Looks pretty big. Would be great if you can traverse all of that and it's not just decoration.
The people running and walking in parts did seem to be stuttery? Like they were real players compared to the preset NPCs.
I didn't see any Low rez stuff which the first game was pretty notorious for. I hope it stays that way.
Looks amazing. I am happy that they kept the music from GW1
@Swanea, GW1 had low rez stuff in it?
Mission in life: Vanquish all MMORPG.com trolls - especially TESO, WOW and GW2 trolls.
When in an outpost you would see lower res textures on players except on your own toon. This made checking certain armoursets on other players difficult in outposts. This has been recently changed in one of the last updates. You can now turn on high res textures for other players in outposts.
In explorable areas and observe mode of PVP high res textures on players have always been enabled.
The city looks awesome btw. If you read the other blogpost about designing it, it also shows a map of Lions Arch and it seems quite large.
