Hey all how's it going?
I'm thinking of buying FFXIV even tho many have called it junk, I play Pandora Saga at this time and it's basicly FFXI-2 so after years of FFXI I wanna try FFXIV but, I'm getting married in sept and on a tight budget so can't aford to upgrade my pc so tell me if I'm ok to run the game cause the benchmark says I'm too low but seems to be telling me I have a nvidia card when I don't.

with that setup you should have a machine capable of installing, updating, playing for 5 mins, and uninstalling like the rest of us did
Sorry to tell you but I dont think that computer is anywhere near able to run FF14. the graphics card isnt fast enough. You will probably get about 5 frames a second and it will be unplayable
I played a few monthes ago on a similiar system and it lagged so badly that It took me 15 minutes to move through the first town xD.
ouch that sucks man it seems the sysem spec on the website are kinda off no?
I would not recommend that game for the life of me, nor would I suggest you purchase a new vid card to play it.
You would need to upgrade, but there are so many better reasons... don't make FFXIV that reason, please. Supporting SE for that excuse of a program... no, no, no... I made the mistake of buying the CE when it came out. Poor, poor mistake indeed.
Think of it like the Crysis of MMOs. When they made the game, the computer that could max out the settings hasn't been made yet.
Like in many cases, the minimum requirements of the game basically imply: "You can run the game... just don't expect it to play very well, or look very good".
That said, upgrading the video card alone can make a big difference.
I was running it initially on a NVidia 9500GT and it was molasses. Slow, painfully slow, even at low graphics settings.
I upgraded to a 460GTX and can play it on good settings (not highest, but still looks damn good) and maintain good framerates... dipping under 20FPS only when entering a spot with a lot of people to load in (near guild leve counters, or at aetheryte crystals or other spots where a lot of people congregate in a small area). Out in the field or in less populated areas, I easily hit 50+ FPS. At any rate, it's very playable with the new card.
The rest of my system is basically a bottleneck for the card at this point, so upgrading the rest of my system should improve it further.
So... basically, you shouldn't need to do an entire system upgrade to play it. Getting a newer, more recent video card should make a significant difference for you without having to go crazy upgrading your PC.
and the cash shop selling asphalt..." - Mimzel on F2P/Cash Shops
Unlike when Vanguard hit, any average machine can play this game at 40 fps on medium settings.
If you can't run WoW or similar games well on medium or low settings, I would not recommend expecting performance to increase in this game.
Sorry to say but you just don't have what it takes, however if you do have some extra money, gamestop is currently selling the game for $15. I actually just bought mine.
Thanks guys I'm gonna stick to Eq2 or Pandora Saga for now
