Playable?

RoakiRoaki Member Posts: 66

I played this a little a couple of years ago, but then I got into World of Warcraft and well, you can probably imagine what happened next.

Anyway, I was thinking about giving this another go.

But I have this problem with graphics, if they are dated then I can rarely continue to play a game, unless the gameplay completely makes up for it (being a Jedi also helps.) So, what I'm asking is, would I be able to play it? Will the gameplay make up for the dated graphics, or should I just move on from this?

Thanks in advance to any repliers!

I don't mean to sound big headed... But I know Voldemort.

Star Wars Galaxies looks pretty good when boosted to max graphics.

Granted, that's moot. The game is shut down until SOE brings its services back up, and there is no timetable for that yet.

I went back to this a while ago and if you're just starting, it's a pretty decent game (when actually online that is!)

My only problem with it is that I played from the beginning, so know what's been lost and can't play the new version through my inconsolable tears. :)

As a gamer with the WoW taint you are not welcome in any other games.  J/k.

    Currently bored with MMO's.

I have a pretty awesome graphics card and for some reason see very little lag even on starsider which is notorious for LAG, and with that I think game looks awesome, the sky is always amazing in opinion.

I played since before NGE and I never got upset with the changes. Of course i never wanted to be a Jedi either, IMO if no changes were made there would still be a ton of jedi since eveyone wanted to be one, plus there would be some serious balance issues.

I have tried other games since SOE has been down, WoW included (again) but nothing seems to compare to owning and decorating my own spaceship.

The freedom i have and the massive size of the galaxy is pretty amazing. Alot of new things have been added its just a matter of people using them.

basically i would not listent to the Nay Sayers (they are understandably disgruntled), many people have stayed sicne the beginning or have recently returned and enjoy SWG very much.

It really depends on if you get into a decent guild, i know i dont mind graphics so much as long as i have decent community and gameplay.  I say give it another go especially with free time coming in the near future. if you happen to stop by shadowfire or flurry i can probably recommend a few guilds based on your faction or play style.

Ive noticed some vets returning in recent months that have started guilds up again or joined some of the larger guilds on different servers. Either way hope you do rejoin and settle in. if you have any questions ones game is back online feel free to send me a cross server tell to shadowfire.silvertears or flurry.silvertears.

Good luck and hope to see you amongst the returning players.
