Endgame?

in Rift

Hello everyone,

 

   I recently started my trial for RIFT two days ago. I'm really starting to enjoy it, once I had found a class build I liked (Marksman / Ranger sort) My question is... How is the endgame? Is it non-existent at 50? Are people just walking around doing nothing?

 

I ask only because I'm definitely convinced on buying RIFT, but I don't want to get buy it if it'll be a ghost town in 6months.

    There is actually a suprising amount of content at 50, atleast on the PvE side, you got your normal daily quests for money and reputation, then theres rifts/expert rifts/raid rifts, theres T1 and T2 expert dungeons, theres a 10 man raid, and theres 2x 20 man raids, theres artifact gathering, and theres the whole crafting system.

    On the pvp side of things theres warzones (battlegrounds), im on a pve server, so i cant speak for the open world part of it.

    official forums are full of begging to merge dead servers and...yeah. I'd advice visiting official forums and looking around before buying.

    And we all know that forums give an exact picture of how a game is doing.

    Rift is doing just fine, theres some servers that need a merge yes, but thats natural with most games, no one expects 100% of the intial buyers to stay.

    I personally don't ever go to official forums because no matter what the game, it's only filled with complainers.

    I used to run a guild (150+ members) during Beta and just after RIFT came out, when we got to the end game content (Rifts, Raid Rifts, Expert Dungeons & PVP) myself and several friends found it very mundane; got incredibly old very fast.

    That's what I was afraid of. Maybe I'll skip for now until I see a major patch or two.

    By then GW2 or TOR will be out and you can try those instead.

     'how the game is doing' is for sponsors and shareholders. how the players feel about the game is for potential players.

    Forums tell absolutely nothing on how the games population and content are doing.  People who go to forums usually do so to complain and aren't playing the game.  People who are happy with the game are.... you guess it!  Playing the game.  And your speculation that the game will be dead within 6 months has no basis of fact whatsoever and your only back to your claim was the official forums mood. 

     

    Rift has excellent content for end game and they are constantly adding new content and listening to their players.  If you like PvP especially then roll on a pvp server and there is even more to do in the end game.  Either way with raid rifts, expert dungeons, pvp warfronts, open world pvp, crafting, dailies, guild quests, and so on there is plenty of end game content to keep you satisfied.  Especially since they do giant world events that involve all players at all levels.
