It is still a guessing game about the two flagship games EQ, and EQ2.  We been down 9 days now and keep getting the same expansion, were working on it.

We have to be real, at some point it has to cost more to fix the game than save it.    I think we are rapidly getting close to that point for all the pc games at soe.

Now the PSN stuff they have 21 million ps3, psp out in the field so they still have a chance to save face their.  however I don't see how they can compensate for the games who already are suffering low populations.  If SOE keeps this up for the PC side games there not going to have much of a player base left.  Most of the people playing the PC based games are doing it because they truly loved them, however at some point even those folks will realize there just another sub number.

I think its a dark day for all us subscribers.

    Lol..you were saying?

If I had a nickel for everytime someone posted a "This is the End" post in the forum over the past 4 years I'd be a fricking millionaire.

Agreed and another nickel for everytime someone said population was increasing, the game was fixed or tried to organize some "lets save vanguard" effort.

We would have a lot of nickels.

SoE's planned compensations are so damn horrible its disgusting. I really hope they do more than what theyre saying theyre gonna do.

Lol more nonsense ,seriously i bet you any money that all the games you mention will come back online as soon as this is sorted out.

Belive it or not but players are still playing those games whether you like it or not.

Just go ahead and think that. I been with soe since SWG and EQ2 rolled out.  I can tell you I watched our game populations decline a long time.  Right now our guild forums are full of unhappy folks,  the longer were down the more folks are going to look at other games, even the die hard defenders are questioning whats really going on.

Lol, and ive been with SOE since EQ1 rolled out under SOE .

You guild  does not make up the whole of SOE player base.

Speak for your guild not everyone else.

You are going to look silly once the server come back online lol.

Yup your right my guild will be coming back maybe less a couple people but that happens anyway.

If a person leaves over this they are not that die hardcore anyway, so guilds will still go on.

What you read is what you got, that's it. Oh and you had to have an active account in good standing when the servers went down. Don't go thinking cool i will re-sub and get stuff.  It is not going to happen, its only for those who were impacted.  And yes the payback rewards as I call them were joke at best.

Looks like I might have been wrong,  everybody getting a free 45 days and all the benifits to games they did have.  So anybody who had vangaurd swg and all, can come back for a free 45 days.

Might just save this game if you can get logged in, i been hearing probably about the log in and time outs.

Yes you are wrong since the first post you made on this topic. However, the log in problem has been solved which was caused due to overload on servers.

So my question is will it be the end to VG, we all know that it's a great game but has suffered from low Pop for a long time, is this enough to tip SOE to turning it off, or could it be a saving grace.

If SOE have any sence they should allow a 30-60 day opening of all Vanguard accounts,it could be the saving grace. Many of the 200k plus who bought Vanguard but left after the first 30 days or 3 months have not played since then.

They don't relaise that Vanguard is not the same buggy mess it was 4 years ago and even with lack of updates a noob would have plenty to do.

Just levelling adventuring to top level 55 would take them 3+ months let alone crafting and diplomacy.

Uh, 200k players ? Thats the population of the first month.

It was over 400k players who actually bought the game.

Sadly, half of the players stayed only like minutes before they stopped playing. Probably because of the high hardware requirements.

Gives you an idea how successful Vanguard would have been if they had actually finished it before releasing. Just waiting longer so that people would have better hardware would already have helped.

I would like to add that making leveling slower so people wont rocket to the endgame and complain theres no such thing as said endgame would have helped, too.
