Do we know what was really hacked from SOE yet?

I only got the first email notice that my account information was stolen from the May 2 notice.  In that, it states that no cc info etc was stolen, but the recent press release states they are providing complimentary credit monitoring?  Did something change, i.e. did they get cc (minus they ones from 2007 the mentioned)?  I haven't received anymore updates from SOE to my email.

Thanks,

Like I said in another thread, My card was hacked but there is no way of really knowing if it was sonys fault. The timing is awefully suspicious though.

Credit Cards are put at risk everytime you use them. Whether online or buying groceries. It's always a good idea to keep track of activity on them, regardless of what they are used for.

As far as the complimentary credit monitoring, I think it is a move to reassure customers that SOE is concerned about the customer data that was at risk. Many people are concerned about having their personal information taken from Sony, so complimentary credit monitoring is about the only thing that Sony can do at this point to address what has happened.

Personally, I'm not too concerned about it, since I have a new Credit Card number anyway. As far as the other stuff they could have possibly gotten, most of it is available in my local phone book, or on any personal check I write. If I still had the CC that SOE had on file, I would probably cancel and get a new one, just to be safe.

The answers have been very vague so far.

Bingo. We only know what Sony is willing to divulge. Considering it took them over a week to alert people of the hack I'm not real confident in their word.

It's ok. I've changed underwear at least once since the attack, so I should be safe.

When i got the e-mail from sony that my info was hacked i called and and got my cc company to cancel my card and send me a new one with a diferent number on it. They told me its a smart thing to dao because they were told that the hackers got my name, cc number and exp date. The only thing the hackers dont have was the 3 digit secure code on the back of my card.Would be a good idea for all you to do the same with your cc company.
